So I'm having this problem quite some time ;
I log in, waiting for something to happen, nothing happens. Steam doesn't give a message that he couldn't connect or something. Just nothing. I've pinned Steam on the taskbar, and sometimes when I spamclick on it, it says " steam is already running in a different window " or something. Now after clicking that alot of time and getting those messages alot, the login screen comes back up. But now it doesn't anymore. I've restarted the computer twice now, and still nothing.

Anyone had this problem ? Can someone help please ?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

I've had the issue for a while too. I haven't updated the steam client in a while though so that might be why lol

Note: it takes me exactly 3 tries to login to actually get the client to work.

Go to process / procedures. Stop steam*32 and try to start it again.

Are you by any chance opted into the beta? Steam refused to launch for me recently while I was opted in. It brought up absolutely nothing repeatedly, and finally I got in long enough to opt out of the beta. Started it again after that, and it was fine.

edit: And yes, mine was killing its process each time, no error messages or anything. :/ If it's because of the beta for you too, do what the poster below me said (deleting the .blob file), then hurriedly opt out and restart Steam before it can crash again.

Go to steam folder, look for a clientregistry.blob file, delete it and try again.

This will force your steam to update itself again, which will take a while, and it also usually fixes any issues like that.

Good luck.

Just do it whenever you get problems logging in.

EDIT: Oh and close steam when you delete the file, the updating happens when you try to log in again.
