Hey everyone,

Hope everyone is happy with the site so far, and that everything is going good with the wife and kids. You guys seen the giveaways lately? They pretty neat eh? Well how about a giveaway genre filter.

So yeah pretty much all that to say that I suggest a giveaway genre filter, where you can choose what genre of games to show up on your home page (Example: Racing, RPG, Action, Arcade, Retro, All, etc).. That way if your looking for a new kind of game to play you start looking in a genre that interests you and possibly find a game you could enjoy. Well weren't those 50 points well spent? ;)

That's not a bad suggestion, but I can foresee issues from just my experience DJ'ing. Catagorizing is very subjective, I've heard people refer to Deus Ex as an action FPS, while I believe it fits tightly into RPG territory. Still, it's something worth looking into. Thanks for the suggestion!

Nothing stopping us from adding several categories to a single game.

I mean everyone knows its not a racing game, so if you look for a racing game it wont show up but if you look for FPR or RPG games it will show up.

See, this is what happens when I don't sleep. I can't think. Great point, I'll see what cg can do!

It's an FPS-RPG hybrid. :)

I don't think making a genre option would be worth the effort. When the site slows down a bit, there will be way less than 10 pages of giveaways. It shouldn't be too hard to navigate through them. That and if there are any other features implemented to dim or gray out the giveaway you've already entered or selected to "ignore".

I think this is an excellent suggestion. It just makes the organising and finding of giveaways a lot simpler and easier. Also, related to the above post made by Cult, adding several categories to a single game like NurEinSpitzname said is an option.
