Nuclear or Nucular?

I fucking hate when I hear people say "nucular". I've heard in games, movies, tv shows, celebrities, people that I consider somewhat educated, stupid people as well, it's just...... makes me wanna kick them in the crotch. How about you?

Notable offenders:

  • Bush ..cause bush

  • Palin ...cause palin

  • Harrison Ford in Crystal skull after the nuke blast

  • Hugh Grant in Cloud Atlas

  • Journey at the center of the earth - brendan fraser derps it up i think

  • The core - again same plot "drop a NUCULAR bomb in the sun, restart the sun"

  • Morgan Freeman ( oh no, not morgan freeman!!!! ) - Through the Wormhole (documentary)

  • Kiefer Sutherland ( Jack Bauer )

I'll add more if I remember. :P

Nucule is a small nut. So when ever someone says nucular I imagine them talking about small nuts. A la - "Nucular Power" = "Small Nut Power" or "We demand the disarmament of all nucular devices" = "We demand the disarmament of all small nut devices". Nutlet works as well.

That's not the same. As both -um and -ium are considered correct. Depends on region. Nucular on the other hand is an abomination that should be killed with fire.

Is it difficult for you to understand what people mean when they say "nucular"? That's the only thing I can think of that would make a person so angry. Anything else you feel is probably just trendhate.

I don't mind as much when is normal people because they always butcher their own language. It annoys me when the people who say it wrong are important or supposed-to-be educated people.... Our president (I'm from Mexico) kinda fits in that group of people...

I'm talking about language in general not the nucular thing, but I get where you're coming from.
