It's not fair that countries that pay full price for games can still get region locked for gifting. Doesn't it just piss you off? anyone have any suggestions for this?

Email Lord Gaben.

Ask him to make your copies ROW.

Wait for a reply and Half-Life 3.

I totally thought you are being serious, until I read that part about Half-Life 3.

Blame your government for not having more economic presence, and thus having a lower relative valuation of currency.

If it pisses you off, take it up with your government, not us- they're the only ones capable of changing those circumstances.

If you don't have the option to buy ROW keys by paying ROW prices, then that's something you can take up with Valve- again, not us.

But asking to buy one product at another product's value, is weird enough even before you consider the need to counter exploitative resellers.
And even that, is something you should take up with them, not us.
Good luck hunting down all the disingenuous people out there.. :X

I pay full price for my games in US dollars.

In that case, you have a very legitimate argument.
A pity Valve support is so poor, else I'd suggest poking them about it.
That really does suck, my condolences. :/

but if you have less money than the rest of the world, your possibilities to make giveaways are limited in all forms.
considering that I got your point by saying that is unfair people pay row prices when others pay region prices

Just to clarify. Some stores are in US dollars at full price yet they get region locks. Gifting is terrible. I have to ask ROW friends to buy games for me during x-mas for secret santa and whatnot and then send them paypay.

I'm getting so much hate.

Patience padawan,

Steam heard you as well as others looking at the current trend. Look at Colombia example, they were part of South America region restriction (possibly paying full dollars) now going to get their own region locked store as stated as well as expected lower prices.

But regional prices is not perfect since once you'll obtain it, you'll see once were available games are either "not available for your region" since the publisher denies it or not purchasable since they won't update price to that region.

So goes the saying; "Be careful what you wish for"...
