I'm starting a new Skyrim run (not legendary ed so no dlc) and considering going mage since last time I played a full fighter type character.

In what order do you guys do your questing? what do you level first? (no glitches/exploits) and most important of all, Imperial or Stormcloaks and why?
Any and all recommendations are welcome.

imperial or stormcloak?

Imperial
Stormcloak
Other (please describe)

I'm finally finishing my first play through, since owning the game almost since launch!
I have yet to decide between stormcloaks or imperials.
I realised earlier today that I have barely touched the main story, and am level 49 with roughly 1/3 of the map cleared! But that's what I love about this game, that you can just quit the main story line and go exploring.
I'm playing as the classic warrior with lots of stealth and archery mixed in.

I recommend getting the enhanced UI mod it will help alot with keeping everything organized.
Also the resurrection spell mod is good for bringing back dead teammates that rush head first into dragons.
Go straight 1 hand weapons and max out ur fire damage.
Stormcloaks for the win!

(p.s. guard your sweet rolls well)
I know how to speel.

I don't think he can take your word for the Stormcloaks when you can't even spell it. :D :D

Storms are not "good". Heck, if this weren't Bethesda game, first thing they would do to your Elf/Imperial character - is brutal tortures for being spy, then execution after you finally admit you kill babies and whatever they want.

both sides have their bad sides, stormcloaks are racists and feel sad for all the khajiit wondering skyrim but the imperials have the adlmeri dominion which are total aholes

Even so, the Empire is the best hope the nordlings have to one day face the dominion in battle.

Both sides are soo bad...Both have their disadvantages.
They both has their goods, but even with all facts on,nethier are truly best.
Imperials have a good commander,a good thinking and future, but at same time i dislike the fact that it changes few good jarls into crap ones such as:
Riften will be controlled by overly powerlusting Maven Black-Briar. Compared to previous jarl, she is more agressive and unfriendly.
Windhelm will be controlled by a no less rude jarl, that says for example if you are Mer like: What do you want,Elf? That was not friendly as Ulfric does.
Stormcloaks have well,a weak rebellion, but compared to Imperials they can make allies easier and...check civil war discussions on TES wiki.
So the result: Both sides are bad.

I went with Imperial, I was and still am not happy with it though, story-wise I mean. I don't like the Stormcloaks either though, so it basically was just the one that sucked less imo for me.

I would join the faction you didn't joined the last time, so that you can make both questlines.

I like to remain neutral. I'm the chosen one to kill dragons not politicians.

Stormcloaks are racists, fact. I don't even understand why someone would go Stormcloaks unless they sympathize with their racist views and the fact that they kind of have to accept the fact that the Thalmor are kind of... Conquerors?

Besides, Imperials favours both good and evil characters in many ways.

I did EVERYTHING else i could find to do before touching the civil war, and before started it i save the game, did imperials, and in the middle i realised that ulfric is a dick and stick with the imperials

I haven't even finished Skyrim. But my character is Stormcloak. I joined because Ulfric sounded pretty cool. But he's a bit of an asshole and a racist. Next time (if I ever get around to it), I'm going to be Imperial. Imperials are f'ing jerks, but they accept everyone - except worshippers of Talos (which are mainly Stormcloaks so . . .).

But yeah. No side is really 'good' to join. It's more up to personal preference on whether your down with racists or conquerors.
