this dev annunced the retirement of his game to have a quick cash flow. so, my guess it's that all the keys given away for free on different sites are the ones revoked . most probably the ones from keyjocker and give.ru. he may see this game being sold to collectors for inflated price, and make this as an protection for his game. btw still shitty move

it was already profile features limited game so its not big deal.

Doesn't matter if it gives a +1 or not, even if it's a crappy game, it's still principals, that he most likely is giving a bullshit reason to have the game removed, you owned it so you should keep it.

Some profile features limited games are flip asset so they are stealing produces. We call "fake games" . Cuz of that i said not big deal.

Strange that a single player game would have in-app purchases option, however, it seems their other game has also been removed from the Steam store.

The retirement of the game happened in August. The revoked keys happened yesterday, claiming they were stolen, but some of the revoked keys were claimed 2 years ago... It's a true WTF moment. I understand he has to do something, but maybe he didn't choose the best way if he's looking to publish more games in the future. This will not be forgotten.

With another game he revoked the keys he gave to curators and reviewers, and mentioned that giving keys was an error because he mainly got negative reviews, and it was like shooting himself in the foot; and he will never give keys again. Another WTF moment, if you don't make a good game, well, your fault.

My X Wars Deluxe hasn't been revoked. I never found it too interesting TBH, and the way it was monetized (cosmetic/support DLCs, in-app purchases) for a single player game was not the best idea IMHO.

Another great step was removing four games because they weren't good enough. If you didn't realize that when you release it, well... Taking so long to realize it after the foot comment... It truly shows the "author bias".

Honestly if I would have coded the worst games ever, I would still keep them up, just as painters keep awful works to remember from where they came. I wish I could code again and be consistent enough to finish a project, game or not.

As you mention this will not be forgotten.
More than "bias" I would say "pattern".
If he uses to revoke keys, why would you want to get any of his/her games knowing that most probably it will be revoked?
Besides to culprit others for your own errors (giving away hundreds of keys)

The "author bias" is when someone makes something and to them it's good enough while the others have clear that, as much, it's mediocre.

I put it in quotes as I'm not sure of the real name, as author bias is something, at least in english, with a related but different meaning.

What I mean is that if you make a painting you think it's more than decent, so you expose it, and except friends who tell you "it truly shows your talent" and other generalities, everyone pans it. And then you say you'll not expose paintings again just to get negative reviews. Well the games were obviously "not good enough", taking years to realize it shows that bias.

Also it was very creepy to see his creepy picture each time you launched the game. Don't misunderstand me, please. He's not ugly and I'm not calling out anything about his ego, but the expression in that photo...

I'm amazed that devs are still able to pull this kind of dumb move after all the fiascos that happened in the past. Yes they should have some control over the keys, like a few MONTHS to revoke them in case something bad happens (like CC fraud), but revoking games after a year, let alone two is outrageous. It doesn't matter what excuse the come up with, it is basically stealing at this point.

As an update, I still have the game but I got the X Wars Deluxe - Line Effect DLC revoked. I got it for free and it's purely cosmetic, but still, I've had it for one year.

Funny i made a thread about this game yesterday. i traded it 15 months ago with some tard who is demanding another key now for the revoked game that’s been done by the developer! Lol

Some rookie mod closed the thread and closed my ticket that i made accusing the trader for bad behaviour in this community! Smh

tard is short for retard which means slow. we started calling people retarded because it was considered rude to call them morons and imbeciles. now we call them "intellectually disabled" because they're too retarded to know what those words mean

2 of 7 winners of the DLC they gave away at least do not own the base game anymore. The 4 winners of the other game still own it.

Hola 😄 Only the creator can do that and they haven't been online for over 6 months.
If you want you can go the the SGTools thread and ask for this game to be added to the whitelist.

I'm not sure though if this game qualifies to be whitelisted (excluded from SGTools activation checks) because apparently only some keys were revoked...

🤔

It doesn't. White list by my understanding is for those games that aren't identified by SGTools to be on account.

The developer is saying that they did not revoke keys that were distributed through Keyhub, but mine was revoked and many others are complaining that their Keyhub keys were also revoked.

He did say that he might have made a mistake, but is accusing people of a bad memory and that they did not get through Keyhub even though Keyhub has a clear history of the keys that are associated with your account.
