It might stay at that price for a while, but you can also wait for sales when you don't want to play it right away.
I would wait for a better deal.

yea, but you can try the game for 1 month for 1USD only :) which is an awesome deal. if you are not sure if the game is good, you can try it there. honestly. interesting game, but more about talking and discovering stuff rather fighting.

If you just want to play the game and don't insist on having it for Steam, you could play it free for a whole month with Origin's free month (see here ).

In that case you should definitely make use of the free month on Origin, as far as I know, having an account with 2FA set up before the end of the month is all you need, you don't need to subscribe and cancel, so there's no risk. November is real close anyway, so it's ideal for checking out the game and if you like it you can still buy it for Steam sometime later.

It's included in Windows Game Pass, which I suppose you can still get a cheap trial for.
I enjoy the game in story mode; the combat really sucks (no pun intended)!

Please don't buy it.

It's very, very terrible.

I had to learn that the hard way.

I love Vampires and dark settings but this game is simply really, really bad. Unbalanced, bad voice acting, mediocre animations.. worst of all, the story is really bad.

Personally, I disagree. I really enjoyed the game. I played through it twice already (before I bought it) and am planning on a third time now. Of course, you can give your opinion but I don't think it's good to tell people not to buy something just because you personally didn't enjoy it as everyone experiences things differently. :)

The lowest historical price is $12.75 so you'll probably find a better deal than this if you are willing to wait longer. I'd use ITAD or GG.deals and set up a price alert so you don't miss a good discount. Or just buy it now and tell yourself the extra cost (of only getting 60% off) is worth not having to wait around indefinitely for a better deal

If you want to play it right away, sure, buy it. But if this game will drown in a backlog, i suggest to wait for better deal, maybe it will be bundled.

Just wait for Halloween sale on Steam

Rule of thumb is that 75 - 80% discount is the usual stop-gap [where at games are no longer necessarily going to discount further].
There are exceptions and variations to this- some games stick to 50% (For example, Final Fantasy games stick to 50% discounts outside of Square Enix boxes [which seem to have been discontinued?]) while others act more eccentrically: Such as Age of Empires 3, which went down to 91% off initially [via old Steam flash sales, I believe] and then went down to 75% as a long-standing low.

Generally, if the developer and publisher don't have a trend of ignoring that 75% low standard, then 75% off (In this case, that'd be a sale price of $12.50?) is generally where you want to aim for, if you're trying to reach the sweet spot of discount % vs time elapsed. Of course, bundles can really mess with such determinations, given how unpredictable the timing of a game's placement in those can be. Vampyr'd make for a pretty solid Monthly reveal, after all..

In any case, Gamersgate apparently had Vampyr for $12.75 just a couple of weeks ago, so it doesn't look like it's avoiding the 75% range. Similarly, Dontnod has its first Life is Strange game in bundles and also brought it down to 80 - 85% discounts. Remember Me was less prominently bundled, but has also reached discounts in the 80+% range.

All things considered, it seems as though it'd be best to wait for a 75 - 85% discount (depending on how patient you want to be). Between the history of its developer and this particular game having already reached that range on discounts, there's no real reason to pay more, at least not if you're patient enough and concerned enough with limiting expenses.

If you are willing to wait long enough, you can buy any game for less than $10. (Example)

If you would rather play sooner than later, however, then figure out how much the game is worth to you. When it hits that price, nab it. Sooth covered that angle fairly well, above.

I've been following the game since the beginning and 19.99€ isn't a great deal since it has gone below this price point several times already. The game isn't very popular, thereby sales are not going to be great. The game goes on sale quite often actually. I can practically guarantee it will go below this price in the next 6 months, obviously Christmas sales. 19.99€ is an ok price if you want to play the game right now, otherwise logic dictates waiting is the better strategy. Your fear that the price won't go down again is very unfounded, I can practically guarantee this will be the price for the Steam Winter Sale.

Always the same: "it's good price", "yes 50 or 60%".
And 3 or 6 month after, it's more less or in a bundle. And sometimes it's given free "I don't think Focus will do that ;)"
And you wait for so long time.
So, do games that you own and way your time as I do.
I have all the time to the end of "whatever you want" to do games that I have ;)

IMO the game is great, especially because of replayability options. I've played it 4 times already and probably will do it again.

I've watched Vampyr on Stream. certainly buy it with a discount for any game, imo. From the makers of Life is Strange, dont expect great gameplay but it works. I believe the focus is mostly storyline. Its not a great Vampire Classic nor it going to be one. Its still a good Vampire game than most games out there and good production value. And by this time, you should have made the decision to not buy it anytime soon.

Halloween Steam sale is coming soon but dont expect great discounts. The major discounts are still the winter sale, also look out for coupons during that period to save more. Cheers~
