How to make giveaways

One thing to keep in mind: some giveaways give no CV Points (CV Points are what levels you up). While creating your giveaways, when you type the name of the game you're giving, you'll sometimes see a * or ** next to the name:

• When it has a *, it means the game was bundled and heavily discounted (either now or sometime in the past), and will only give you 15% of the CV Points a normal game of equal value normally would.

• When it has a **, it means the game was given away for free (either still is or was sometime in the past), and will give no CV Points at all.

Also: even if the game currently give full CV points, if in the future it is discovered that the game used to be bundled or free, the site will lower or remove the CV will retroactively to all user accounts who did a giveaway after the date it was bundled/given for free, downgrading the levels if applicable.

It happened to me: I did a 5-copies giveaway about a year ago, the game was discovered to have been part of a bundle 2 years ago, so my CV was lowered just enough to get de-levelled from L5 to L4. I was surprised at first, but I understand why this rule is necessary.

In short if you find a free game in a mass giveaway, you usually don't get cv. You will usually have to spent some form of money on it.
