I used to hate EA for what they did - but recently they're doing a pretty good job. IF someone deserves hate its EGS.

I have used Origin Vault Access in both free promotions, and it was neat. If you like this type of service vaults, there are plenty of games to choose from. EA Play, afaik is the same only on different platforms. I am considering getting the annual for my xbox, 2bh. That is pretty cheap, compared to Uplay+

For me it's a no. I'm not a big fan of subscriptions. I prefer to buy my games and especially to buy it in places like GOG, where I actually own the copy of the game. But the price seems to be ok, I guess.

Many games there are dying or have some issue in their eyes, so they shove them into a "special" package. Not saying there cant be ok games, but I can see what they are doing.

Permalink

What do you mean dying? Package has their latest games including NFS Heat and Fifa 21. :D

As I said you can have good games. I mean dying for the games with decreasing player base or sales. Selling those games in a subscription package rather than individually may pay off for them because the bulk can make up for specific fails.

They dont put games there because they are "dying" rather all EA have are those. :D And this deal isn't only for Steam, they have same infact better deal on origin for years now. Steam made it available to more people with regional pricing.

Also i agree on the part it encourages to people play older games.

The Play List on Steam isn't very impressive to me. I would've subscribed solely for Sims 4 but EA Play only includes the Digital Deluxe so it's still missing the vaaaast majority of content.

Onlyfans -type of thing...I want to buy my games and music. Ideally I would also buy my tv series but there is no such service here yet.

EA's regional pricing for my country is funny LOL usually we have cheap prices on games but we have one of the most expensive ones for EA Play. Wanted it for the discount but it's a pass for me bc it's not worth the price for just the discount :(

i need to know what's the difference of ea pla vs pro vs steam

oh and are we gonna get full DLC or what?

The steam version mainly comprises of games from EA while the Origin version will include temporary offers of third party games.

Which version you get is already mentioned on each product page ;)

I have to add:
Sadly EA has been diminishing EA Play value on Origin, many of the non-EA titles included in the subscription have already got removed from it and EA hasn't added any non-EA titles to EA Play on Origin for months now... and even more non-EA titles will be removed over time

However Most of those non-EA titles that have been removed from EA Play on Origin are still included in EA Play Pro
Also as another point to add for the difference between EA Play (on Origin) and EA Play Pro (which is exclusively available on Origin only) ; Pro includes full access to new EA titles from day 1 (or even from before Day 1 if said game has an early access)

As for DLCs:
For non-EA titles the huge majority of them do not include their DLCs in either subscriptions (EA Play or Pro)
As for EA titles some of them include the highest editions in both subscriptions (example: premium editions of BF games are included, Dragon Age Inquisition Goty Edition also included which has all the expansions..)
Mass Effect 2&3 don't include their expansions in the subscriptions .. same for Sims 4 Dead Space 3 Dragon Age 2 ..etc

little quesiotn about 10% for subscribers: which titles count? There is no list anywhere, even on EA/Origin page, not on ToS, only i found is this:

A 10%* discount on EA digital purchases on Steam including full games, expansions, points packs, and more.

Then it connects to this:

  • Conditions, limitations and exclusions apply. Click here for details.

Then the 'here' link is this:

Member 10% Discounts: excludes Star Wars: The Old Republic, certain partner titles distributed by EA, game time codes and subscriptions on PC. Also excludes backwards compatible Xbox 360 titles on Xbox.

But no game names, so dont know which count or not

Could be interesting if you can buy 1 month and then -10% to some games

For example in Poland:

I want fifa21, nfs heat, andromeda, jedi fallen order-total 351,95(actually on Steam Winter sale)

When i buy 1 month of EA play for 14,99 and get 10% discount it will be:
14,99+351,95*0,9=331,75

So i pay 20zl less+also have 1 month to try other games

It is better to buy 1 month then when total amount of games in cart>149,99

on steam these two discounts doesn't add. So it is pointless to advertise this 10% discount on steam. On origins however these does .Games are all here https://store.steampowered.com/subscriptions/ea.

Yea, that's exactly what I did it for too - subbed for a single month for the new Star Wars game (except via PS4, since my PC is dated). Definitely worth it.

As are both of the comments you're responding to. I've only played Fallen order so far and even if I don't play anything else it was still worth the dollar.

I have to agree with psousa, it is a fact that needs highlighting .. Peg4sus comment "$1 a month" sounds like every month is $1

I know from all the complaints I have seen on EA Answers HQ for a similar deal on Origin a while ago.. many don't notice it is an offer for the first month only and complain about the "scam" that "EA pulled" when those ppl found out the second month they got charged the $5

I personally have subbed to EA Play on Steam for a year since day 1, and I do find it a great value
