Well I wanted to keep it as short and concise as possible but. Basically you pay for a recurring subscription every month like a magazine. But they send you a box full of cool stuff. Like you can get marvel/dc toys and keychains or whatever. Cool t-shirts, plush figures. It's random every month.

As far as my 20 second research goes, you pay monthly subscription and they send you nerd stuff. Figurines, t-shirts and such. Nerd stuff basically.

Yeah, I ended up checking it out. I was saying to give more info if you're going to recommend something. I'm not being critical for the sake of being an asshole. If it warranted a thread, then you should be eagerto tell us why you like it and what it offers.
I almost got a bit excited once I looked at the sites and saw NERD thrown around all over the place. Then I saw S&H fees and the risk of getting something crap. For cheapskates like me, it is a hard sell. Maybe if they offered a $5 box with slightly damaged or dented products.. hahahaha

Yeah, have fun with cluttering your house with unsold made in china surplus toys being displayed. Why would I buy kiddy toys for 20$/month where you will just put them on garage sale or goodwill after 5 monhths.

No but seriously. I think this stuff is gold and it doesn't hurt me to spend 20 a month on something that will entertain me if only for 5 months. I'd rather pay just 20 a month for this then the over 1500 I pay in rent and utilities. There's a lot worse you can pay 20 a month for. Like take out. Or cigarettes/alcohol. Or taxes.
Plus I have 2 small children who will enjoy these things with me.

Its a neat idea to get some random items, but looking at the size of the box, you don't get a whole lot for your $30+ dollars, $20 plus at least $10 dollars shipping. For everyone else not in the US, I'm sure you're looking at closer to min of $20 dollars shipping.

I love loot crate. There has only been one month since i have subscribed where I really didnt care for the items but other than that I have been quite happy with it. They have quite neat items and they are always sending out pop vinyls or other funko toys in boxes which I love and am slowly building a nice collection of. The boxes are like little presents to myself every month. And I give away the items I don't like from boxes as gifts. I will admit international boxes do cost quite a bit, but it is something they just started this month so maybe prices will go down?

My biggest problem is the randomness of it, if they were to say, you get 1 t-shirt, 1 plushy/action figure and 1 cd/book per month, sure right on, whatever, but like Humble Bundles, you're really at the mercy of what the company scrounges up for cheap to send you. Sure some months will be epic, others won't be worth the $20. I'd rather just have complete control over my $ and buy just the things I want.
Maybe I'm just old, but collecting stuff for the sake of collecting stuff really doesn't appeal.

I recently subscribed to both NerdBlock as well as LootCrate and I think these are so awesome!
Wondering if anyone else has subscriptions with these companies? If not you should definitely check them out. I have received one NerdBlock shipment and it was definitely worth the money. I haven't gotten my box yet from LootCrate for this month so I can't vouch for them but from their past boxes they look great.
Just thought I'd make this thread to inform people on these awesome subscription boxes!
