How to survive

this http://www.steamgifts.com/bundle-games/search?q=How+to+Survive
sg tool isn't displaying the bundle status.

It should work again. It seems that at least a game got removed from the bundle list and it was matching the same number of games, so it was not updating it...

thanks, i forgot to report that in the sg tool thread. :3

Payday 2's price was lowered a while ago, though only by 10€ and it was in May. That's the only game you've gifted that I can spot being a possible suspect. How to Survive counts as bundled (as people mentioned above), but to my knowledge, it has counted as bundled for a while now.

How to Survive has been showing as bundled for a while but I don't think I have seen the Storm Warning edition on the list before. Possibly that has also now been retroactively bundled?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah I'm not completely sure but I seem to remember that not long ago only the base edition was on the list.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That explains my drop. I don't think storm warning edition has been bundled, but it was reduced by a lot during the steam summer sale, which is when I bought 2 copies to gift here. Can big reductions make the value drop as well as bundled?

Yes, it had a 95% discount and games that get such a high discount get added to the list

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It is up to the staff what gets on the bundle list and they clearly take various things into account. Reductions of 95% certainly seem to get games on the bundled list, which seems to be reasonable.

A few other games seem to have been getting on the bundled list although they haven't been that much off in my region and I'm starting to think regional pricing may be an issue. I think it might be starting to seem a little unfair at times as I generally pay more than anyone else.

Fortunately I don't get too stressed about my level - but maybe some clarification would be nice!

Weird thing, it doesn't seem to be calculating right either ways. For your level to be 3.30 your real CV should be $64.99. Which I can't seem to get even, even if you include How to Survive as a bundle that gives 15%, it turns out $48 CV then.

Edit: SGTools seems to be fixed now, except the classic bug happens again, one stays full price while others are bundled.

Also props for name... :>

I thought that bundled games doesn't drop their value if GA was created before game was bundled.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

that is still correct.

just don't confuse "before the game gets bundled" with "before the game gets added to the bundle list", because the later is retro-active.

Oh, that's explains a lot! I think that I might have mixed this both things up, and that's why I got it all wrong. Thank you for clarifying this for me.

same here lost half a level

one thing thats really, but really bothering me since day one is... why on earth are gifts marked as bundled games too, i mean its not really possible to get steam gifts via bundles (bar some odd games that give extra copy), so we got those games on steam, not in a bundle, obviously.

now i know games that go above 95% off get marked as bundled games and im ok with it, but game (gift) that has never been 95% or higher on steam, shouldnt be marked as a bundled game.

Yup. I rechecked my giveaways and also Narnia got in the bundle list, even though none of these 2 were bundles or were sold under 95%. At least according tot isThereAnyDeal.com. And I bought these games in May, when they were 90% off.

Narnia explains why I just noticed my CV go down slightly - although I'm also not sure why!

I think I have a suspicion both were related to Russian prices - I believe both were popular with certain CV exploiters due to not being region locked? Unfortunately that might make the rest of us a little paranoid about making giveaways for non-bundle games...

Narnia was region locked in Russia. My CV also went down, from 4.08 to 3.56 because of Narnia.

I stand corrected, I clearly just assumed that is what was going on - but the info is certainly useful!

Oddly enough, this happened to me as well though the CV calculator can't seem to catch it. Normally I wouldn't mind, but it is a significant reduction for me so the fact that I can't seem to catch what is causing the reduction is annoying me a bit.

EDIT: Noticed that Eidos pack was just added to bundles so that would sort of explain it for me, however got another question on how CV is reduced.

Curious what was your CV before you created those giveaways then after? CV seems to be bouncing around before it settles for me. Example before I made that Age of Empries Legacy Giveaway my CV was at 7.10 and then went down to 7.01. After Savage Lands it went up to 7.03 then after another it went down to 6.75. You'd think I would take the hit immediately than have CV bounce around like that?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I found the culprit! It is a combination of things but it seems like a couple of packs I've given away now count as bundled (which makes sense). Looks like Shobo was on a roll yesterday. Oh well, I should be able to reclaim what was lost easily enough :D.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

According to CV Calculator I should be level 7, got bumped down to 6.75 after creating another giveaway. In fact seems like creating giveaways is removing CV rather than giving it.

Eidos Anthology was added to the bundle list.

Ah just noticed that. Saw the error now that would explain it. Thought it was already bundled?

Permalink

No, you are probably thinking of the Armageddon Bundle. Eidos is still considered as unbundled by the calculator, which updates 3 or 4 times a day.

Permalink

Makes sense. Still curious why my CV values would bounce up and down like that, think it would just take a hit?

Ok. So I'm having a problem and I won't create another thread to talk about it. Instead I'll bump this one. But here's the thing: why is Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 and 4 Bundle on the bundle list? It's never been bundled and it never went 95% off. I won't get into how I lost a lot of my level and how my giveaways were created before the supposed "bundled on OCT 5", and how even the sg tools says it wasn't bundled. Instead, I hope someone can join me on this detective journey so we can find out together. Also, I was verifying and The Waste Land also has not been bundled or went -95%.

Penny Arcade 3 was free, but only the game and not the Penny 3 and 4 bundle. I don't think The Waste Land was free as well.

They had a 90% discount (even 93% for the Penny bundle I think), and with regional prices the price was similar to a 95+% discount on some stores
