I wish I still had my discs for the first game and expansion, lent it and Warcraft 2 complete to a friend.

I never really got to play it.

I've never played StarCraft II, but the first one and the Brood Wars expansion pack are amazing. You can scoop up a copy very inexpensively anymore. Just make sure the key hasn't been used if you want to play multiplayer.

WarCraft II is one that I've been contemplating rebuying on-and-off. Deep down I know I don't need it, but when deals like this one come around it reminds me that I still want them.

Now hunt your friend down and retrieve what is yours! :)

Let me clarify a little. I forgot the ''. I haven't seen them for years. :(

As for getting new copies, places don't seem to have them any longer. :(

Oh, sorry to hear that. I've had many games disappear that way over the years. :(

And I know what you mean. The only place I know to get them is online. WarCraft II, especially the Battle Chest, is actually quite expensive. It's around $55 USD used... Another reason I've never gotten it.

Starcraft 1 + Brood War is sold digitally via Battle.net though - listed under "Classic games". List price is $14.99 in US dollars, don't know what that comes down to in Kiwi money

Warcraft 1 & 2 - no such luck :/

It's worth every penny of it, too. I've seen the boxed copies go for $10 brand new for both together but it takes some hunting. Maybe Battle.net has summer sales? I see they just marked StarCraft II and HotS down to $9.99 each this week.

Battle NET does have. But they're 20 USD combined - I bought it at that price too last sale.

Blizz aren't willing to slash it more than that for digital BNET copies.

Still overpriced. And they're making Legacy of the Void. Might as well wait until that's included.

Overpriced is subjective. I personally am fine with the prices. Have been idle too long on RTS world.

If you want to wait for LotV, you might need to wait for another year since it's not even released. And then it's not gonna be 75% off first sale.

But if you're not a fan of RTS games from Blizz, yes, you'd be better off waiting for the whole franchise pack.

I am also personally fine with that price, if I needed to buy them still. Just Wings of Liberty alone was worth it's original asking price when it first shipped for all the fun and enjoyment I got out of it, gameplay and mechanics are really crisp in SC2 compared to just about any other RTS I've played in recent years

And it's the only franchise Blizz offer to serious gamers.

Now they're all about casual. Diablo 3 is a dumbed down of Diablo 2.

Heroes is a dumbed down of Dota.

Hearthstone... can't compare since they don't have any predecessor of card game.

I can't judge WoW as I haven't played it for a long time.

At least SC2 retains its value.

Hearthstone is relatively serious. It is kind of a dumbed down Magic but until Wizards release the Magic equivalent, this is /the/ card game to go to for online card battles. It has a sort of pay to win aspect with the cards, but so do real actual trading card games, so that makes a little sense.

Haven't played WoW in a super long time but my friend who's been playing since Lich King tells me they added like a super casual way to find guilds for raids, but the rewards from that aren't as good as the ones from the traditional way. Also someone told me they're taking away flying mounts???

depends. i have games i paid 50€ for, and i played them maybe 10 hours. and i have both starcraft 2's, which combined did cost me 80€, and i played 6500 multiplayer games so far, and i am still not tired of it. not sure, how many hours that is. roughly 2000-3000, i think. so i personally don't think it's overpriced. ^^

For me it's not worth spending $20 on. $10 makes more sense. They're just averse to 75% discounts because it's Blizzard-Activision.

I paid $20 for Starcraft 2 with the Swarm expansion at Gamestop during a sale. Since this comes with a Hearthstone pack and a strategy guide it's even better. If you haven't played this game it's worth it.

Battle.net is currently selling digital copies of WoL and HotS for $9.99 each. The link is the US/English store so I'm not sure if the sale is going on elsewhere? But it would be $19.98 there, so you can save an entire penny! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

This is absolutely worth it. Starcraft is awesome and the single player is aswell. Plus, Blizzard is nice to players.

I think I would rather wait for a complete battle chest even though this is a pretty decent deal. Shipping kills it though for me (international... or rather that extra 10 miles on the delivery truck is what kills it)

Both games and the Battlechest are on sale right now at Blizzard store for 9 and 19 euros respectively. Digital downloads though so no physical products will be sent.

Well, I do have Amazon Prime, so shipping would be free...

Although I never did play Starcraft. Or Warcraft, for that matter.
