Hello everyone!

A few days ago I noticed an extra tab has popped up out of the blue in my Steam inventory. It's for the game Defense Grid 2, which I don't own and whose items I have never ever had in my inventory. It's actually got 0 items right now, but it doesn't go away like they usually do.

Anybody else noticed something similar with their inventory? Sorry for the silly question, my OCD just wants to know.

Have a giveaway as a thank you for reading this thread (lasts around 24h): https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/cGElp/

yeah, definitely =\
I've had an amazed3d empty/unaccessible inventory for years so far I think and 1- steam help won't answer, often (once they removed inventory items like the lunar new year things and such, they can do anything with your inventory but it seems they don't care =P) 2- posting in the steam discussion page often is useless too since the devs are like banned or unavailable and you can't do anything in the game itself to remove the empty inventory..
so all this mess to say that I still have that empty unavailable inventory with 0 items and I don't know what to do with it =P so good luck for yours, write to steam help and write in the game discussion page =)

That is my experience as well. Their reply is that only the dev/publisher can remove these (be it items or tabs), which is a laughable explanation/excuse as most of the time this happens when they themselves have banned those devs/publishers. I find it impossible to believe that Steam doesn't have power over everything in their site as they show their power whenever it matters to them.
So, yes, if you're stuck with an item that cannot be used or an empty tab or some other glitch in the inventory, steam won't (currently) help. I just wish that in the future they will enable the option for the user to delete such "waste" from their inventory.. but I won't hold my breath..

Your point is 100% true. Months ago, I wrote to Steam help (or however it's called) and asked to delete from my inventory some items that were deemed impossible to sell, trade, transform into gems etc. (belonging to some sales event, like lunar new year emoticons or something like that).. and they managed to permanently remove everything. So I really find it impossible to believe that they can't remove items from our inventory belonging to any game, it's their own website and I think that with one click they could erase my whole inventory.. so I take their replies just as "we get lots of messages and we don't want to work". And as you said, they show their power everytime they want without even caring about most of the users' opinions..
Unluckily I tried to contact the devs, write to them and in the game's discussion page but everything looks dead so that empty inventory has been there for a lifetime. I'd really love to have a delete button too but if from Steam/Valve they don't care at all I doubt they would add it, it won't net them more money =\ And we're forced to keep those useless glitches in our inventories..

Yes, I got the same cookie-cutter reply. I can't be bothered getting in touch with the devs about this... I suppose I'm just stuck with the ugly tab in my inv.

Hi Baba(isYou),
wow, thanks for asking! Out of curiosity I went to my Steam inventory and indeed - there is a tab for Euro Truck Simulator 2 now and it even has an item in it I'd be able to sell on the market (for 3 Cents).
I never owned this game and have no idea where this could be coming from. WEIRD!!

If it's a gingerbread house, it was from the 2018 winter sale calendar.

I've noticed it few days ago. To my best recollection there was some beta map as steam inventory item. My guess is that old beta keys gave us this crap. You also probaly had this, try to find among licences "Defense Grid 2 - Limited Beta"

Yes, I found out I had removed the game from my account (using the recent Steam Support feature) and after restoring it it appears among my licenses as Defense Grid 2 - Early Access. Guess I got it from some giveaway and forgot about it until the other day.

Re-removing the game does nothing... I guess I'm stuck with the glitched tab.

I noticed I had a tab like that for some game a few weeks ago. I forget which game it was.

The tab is gone now.

I made a topic about it in the Defense Grid 2 forum on Steam, maybe someone from the developers reads it at some point and fixes this problem.
