The direct competition of this site is SteamCompanion. No other Steam-specific raffle sites exists now, AFAIK, but you can always browse the Deals section here for cheap bundles (mostly indie games, sometimes AAA), and IsThereAnyDeal.com for any good sale/discount on a title you are interested in.

GameMiner and PlayBlink as well I would say ;)

Still SG is the biggest among all of those.

SteamCompanion is a pretender / joke, not a competitor.

Barter.vg is extremely trustworthy, and even superior to sg, for trading.

For giveaways, sg is the absolute best option.

Did you make sure to set your trading preferences and use matching and everything?
It does involve a bit more work to get things prepped than sg trading.

But still, odd. Barter has been nothing but fantastic for me and everyone I know that uses it [except you, apparently? :P]

The main issues with sg are its extremely limited interface, the people trolling about for people to scam, and people having extremely irrational expectations on trading value [eg "Hey this $2 retail game was tier 2 this bundle I bought it in- nevermind those times it was tier 1 in other bundles- so I should be able to trade it for your $20 retail bundled once tier 2 game"]. You see very little of that last bit on barter, and primarily only from new users. The first two aren't problems at all.

Flip side, sg's more free interface does make it more favorable for setting up things like paypal-based trades and the like, and Barter's community primarily favors bundled game trading, so sg is a decent place for unbundled game or steam item trades.

Oh, that's why.
Yeah, the one complaint I've heard is that if you put unbundled games up, you tend to get offers like that- and that number is notably increased you don't set your trading message to say you won't trade unbundled for bundled.

If you've set that trading message, and people ignore it, just add the users in question to your ignore list.

still seems pretty straightforward to me? :/

I'm not sure there's enough being said for me to use it to remember anything, even if, y'know, I didn't have my circumstances.
