I liked Darkside Detective but was letdown by the open ending. Not sure I'll pay for a game if it's going to be the same unresolved ending again.

So many cool games in that list. Picking 10 is hard but (besides Little Nightmares II cause duh!) here goes

One Dreamer
Undying
Trail of Ayash
Bloodroots
No Place for Bravery
Sands of Aura
Operation: Tango
Unsouled
Don't Forget Me
Gatewalkers

Lots of great looking MMO and online multiplayer too but demos won't tell you if those are good. Microtransactions, paywalls and the number of actual players will have a big part in that.

Going to try Unsouled now. Looking forward to Bloodroots but that one's been on Epic GS for a while. One Dreamer looks cool and a bit different.

I don't buy games on Epic so i don't keep up with their releases but I figured this one was out there because there are gameplay videos that look pretty good.

One Dreamer looks cool and a bit different.

I know, right? When I was checking out the games on display, it's the one game that really caught my attention like. The others I flagged look interesting but the game mechanics on One Dreamer feels both intriguing and unique.

Riiiiight? Some look pretty far away (Q4 2021 nooooo!) but they look worth the wait.
Steam did a pretty good job with the selection. I have another 20 added to my wishlist on top of those 10

I tried a bunch, so far my favs are
Happy Game from amanita design
Lost Words: Beyond the Page
already mentioned One Dreamer & Beacon Pines
and Blind Drive — absolutely unexpected 15 minutes of fun

edit: I'll edit this post if I'll find smth else
Lacuna — cool detective game (kinda p'n'c, but not exactly)
Echo Generation — I was skeptical to try anything 'voxel', but it's actually a pretty good turn-based. I hope the story will be good
Song of Facra — another investigation game. about 45-50 minutes of the demo for the whole first case
Minute of Islands — beautiful hand-drawn puzzle-platformer with great (so far) emphasis on story + quite unusual lore; from creators of "The Inner World"
Cats and the Other Lives — another unexpected great demo. You play as a cat, that's enough. welp, not really, because it's the exact reason why I was skeptical at first. So far it's kinda p'n'c-on-rails (kinda because as a cat you don't have an inventory) and there's a ton of text (it's not bad) — you are at the center of a family drama. Story-rich, for sure, and so far, an interesting story.

I have tried out like 20 demos and plan to try more. I love demos! But the game I enjoyed the most is Loop Hero (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1282730/Loop_Hero/), an odd roguelite incremental RPG/card-based god game mix in a 8-bit gothic stylization. Really, there's something oddly fascinating about the game and its

I love demos too. I mean technically, sure, everything on Steam is refundable if you play only a couple hours and you don't like it but
1) it gets you penalized for card drops
2) you have to wait until the game is out.

Demos for upcoming games are a great way to get hyped up
