I have browsed wiki and the internet in general regarding bitcoins. Unfortunately i am unable to distinguish between bitcoin.com and Bitcoin.org (which is the official version?).
Another of my main doubts is which Bitcoin wallet to use? I downloaded a few apps for the same, but which is trusted i really dunno since i am new to this field.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply! I will check that out. Also, does payment fees depennd on the wallet used or it depends on the amount of transaction?

Transaction fees depend on the number of transactions in the network and how fast you want the transfer to take. I'd suggest looking up a video on YouTube to explain it, as I'm not sure of the calculations myself. Electrum has a good slider to set the tx fee based on how long you'd like it to take.

I made a Coinbase wallet a while back (July 10 2014 according to the website) because I could get $1 for "free" as part of a promotion. My $1 is worth almost $15 today. Apart from that, never used Bitcoin.

Electrum is a decent hybrid between classical safe private key wallet, and potentially untrusted third-party services offering web wallet. I use it and I like it.

the real question is, how on earth do you even amass bitcoins to put in that wallet? ive only heard that the cost to reward for mining puts you in the negative.

There are hundreds of local bitcoin markets, where you can exchange real cash for bitcoin and bitcoin for real cash. Personally I use my local bitmarket.pl. Sure you can also mine bitcoin, but it's much easier to just buy it if you want to - it's not really any different than exchanging for different currency.

As in a "physical" one on my pc? I'm just afraid it might be a hassle, like if I lose access to my laptop, reformat it, password and all, so I just let them sit in Coinbase cause they were only $5 2 years ago that I never paid attention to.

Hardware wallet are the most secure but I was talking about a software wallet at least, like electrum. Having your own private key is the best way to be sure you'll keep your bitcoin whatever happens, here you rely only on coinbase (they have your bitcoin, you don't, if they go bankrupt good luck getting back your money)... You can backup your private key with different way, you can save it on a usb drive or write it on a paper at your home, losing acces to your laptop is not a problem if you do well....

I had a wallet way back when bitcoin was mined on CPUs. Sadly, I lost it. Don't even remember if I had mined anything either. Haven't touched bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies since.

I always use the organization one. (https://bitcoin.org/)
In Fact, I never heard of that https://bitcoin.com/ before, they are new.

But it doesn't matter, I don't think that there is anything to be done one the websites.
