The whitelist acts like it's own group, not a subset of the groups listed. You were able to enter because you were part of the creator's whitelist.

Sometimes members whitelist people they don't know... I do this frequently if I notice a super generous or truly nice/helpful member but I rarely tell them I am adding them because I'm not doing it to also get added to theirs....

You do not need to know the creator.
The creator thought at some point that you are a great person, so he/she added you to his/her whitelist.
Edit: In your case it is your send to won ratio most probably.

It's an OR condition, not AND. So if you are either part of a group among the selected ones or the creator's whitelist you gain access

If you can enter someone's whitelist giveaway without being a member of any one of the groups it was simultaneously shared with, that means you are in their whitelist.
People sometimes add people to their whitelist without having interacted with them directly. They could have won a giveaway of yours or liked your comments in the forum, for example.

It just means you're on their whitelist and you don't need to know them for this to happen. :)
I'd assume they entered on of your giveaways or saw one of your posts and added you for your good ratio.

If you are whitelisted by a user, you can enter any and all whitelist giveaways and whitelist + group giveaways. The whitelist works exactly the same way as a group would - you don't need to be a member of all the groups (or the whitelist) to enter a multi-group/whitelist giveaway. Being the member of just one of the group, or being on the user's whitelist, is enough to grant you access.

This is a normal feature. Feel free to use the search function as well to look up things which are seemingly anomalies, as well as read the FAQ and guidelines if you haven't.
