Checking some profiles I noticed people with higher comment count have more giveaways won , does it matter or is it just coincidence ?

Common courtesy is now called spam? D:

I read it "i don't want olive in this planet anymore". That was weird.

Nope. However, active users are more likely to be noticed and invited to special groups. I myself have a couple of giveaway groups for people I like on forums.

Yes, let's specifically reply to the guy who has "givaway groups for people I like on the forums". Maybe he'll invite us to his group! /sarcasm

And also, people who comment a lot usually contribute more and enter, like, puzzle or group giveaways which have higher chance of winning, so...

nut somme puzzles...as hard as hell..

most of them require esoteric skills level 70

Nope, but that usually means that they are on the forums often. Theres plenty of private giveaways here hidden or in a puzzle

Couldn't find the hidden giveaway. Thanks anyway.

meh, couldn't tell, especially after I reread my wording

1 decade ago

Typically not, but it depends on the giveaway person. Some of them will reroll if you do not post a thank-you message.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Note that they (normally) can't do that, since it's not one of the valid reasons to request a new winner.

1 decade ago
Permalink

But they can ask mods to approve special rules for their giveaways.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

When they are private giveaways, yes. Those also tend to have less entries in the first place! :D

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Doesn't stop people from doing it and it is hard to report someone when you did not even know you were originally a winner to begin with.

edit:
on an unrelated note, wtf is number 6 about under valid reasons?

Random is random.

People with more comments win more because they are usually here more often, join giveaway groups, enter private giveaways and so on. It's not actually because of the comments

Pretty much this. Do note however, that posts on the forums are worth more than posts on giveaways.

If you are social and people being to know/like you; you have a better chance on getting group invites.

Comments on giveaways are just common courtesy :)

The amount of comments affects rather indirectly on your winning, like some people described here.

1 decade ago
Permalink

No, but being active in the community does, you can encounter private giveaways.

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Indirectly, yes.
Active users are more likely to find private giveaways and such.

other than that, no, comments won't raise your chance of winning a giveaway you've entered.

I noticed another thing. Those who post to point out the weirdest schemes, usually have very few comments. :D
Lots of comments usually just means that they are very present on the site = joining lots of giveaways, including private ones.

EDIT: don't worry, just keep joining and go on with your life. The wins will come! :)

Every vowel increases your chances of winning by approximately 0.001%, but each consonant reduces your chances by 0.01%.

Therefore, simply saying "Thanks" actually lowers your chances.

This has been proven, by the way. With science.

Obviously, just look at my profile! I have 4 wins and 494 (with this one) comments, when I'll reach 500 I'll win another game.
It works like this but people are greedy and want to keep the secret!

Sooo...SG prevented me from winning this game as a punishment to have disclosed the Secret Truth. Now I have to reach 600 comments to win my 5th giveaway.
And that's why in many profiles the number of winning doesn't always coincide with the number of comments, they must have been punished for something too.
