The summary is

The FCC wants to destroy net neutrality and give big cable companies control over what we see and do online. If they get their way, they’ll allow widespread throttling, blocking, censorship, and extra fees. On July 12th, the Internet will come together to stop them.

Doesn't really say how exactly that's stopping them.

Well, pretty much like a petition I'd say, so... probably not much but can't hurt to try

I did not include a summary because I thought the link did a good enough job giving a quick overview and more basic details once you scroll down. However, I agree that they don't explain very well what will happen that day. I don't really think they know. It's still in the planning stage but it sounds like they're hoping for something similar to past events.

What will happen on July 12th?

Websites, Internet users, and online communities will come together to sound the alarm about the FCC’s attack on net neutrality. We'll provide tools for everyone to make it super easy for your followers / visitors to take action. From the SOPA blackout to the Internet Slowdown, we've shown time and time again that when the Internet comes together, we can stop censorship and corruption. Now, we have to do it again!

Only Amazon out of the big companies is doing it this time?

Amazon is the largest involved so far but there are other well known sites on the list including pornhub, imgur, kickstarter and apparently Netflix as of recently. No indication yet that Google or Wikipedia will be joining.
