Giveaways Entered vs View Entries

So I am missing the "estimated wins" so I am fiddling around with probability and stuff but in the course of this I noticed something odd.

When I go to "My Profile" there is the point "Giveaways entered" which is at 5,127 at the moment.
But when I go to "Giveaways" -> "View Entries" -> "closed" it shows 4,735 results.

Do you have such differences as well?
Can someone explain this discrepancy to me?

For clarification: I am not complaining about anything, just curious and would like to know :)

PS: Sorry no giveaway here atm ;)

I've read before the discrepancy is because of giveaways that have gotten deleted by the creator or the mods instead of closing when they ended.

I've not checked this for myself but the question has come up before and that's always the common answer.

Aaahh so "Giveaways entered" is the numbers of giveaways I entered (duh) and "closed entries" is the number of giveaways I entered which actually had a winner (so were not deleted)?

Um... should I tell you?
Okay...so, you're viewing the "closed" giveaways only, while your profile shows all the giveaways you've entered. So, if you sort it to "all" instead, it shall show all giveaways you've entered. The Profile and the "all" should be pretty close...
Also, some giveaways have been closed by mods/creator.

Thanks but I've thought about that already, "all" shows 4,765 which is 4,735 + 30 open atm - I'm not currently entered to 400 GAs^^
The explanation about deleted GAs seems plausible.

Deleted giveaways used to not show up on the counter on your profile, now they do.

Obviously, you cannot see deleted giveaways on your "View Entries" page, thus the number is different.
