Yesterday was my birthday (24), but was not a happy one. Well to be honest I haven't had a happy one for quite some time now. Usually birthdays mark yet another year of me not finding a job and not doing anything productive, yet another year of me not accomplishing anything in life. On top of that I usually don't celebrate them because I don't have money to.

However yesterday there unfortunately was one more reason. On tuesday my father had a stroke, his head had to be operated and he fell into a coma. Yesterday doctors told us that there is no more bleeding in the head but that he is in deep coma which means it's impossible to determine will he ever wake up . On top of that they're worried about his weak oversized heart.

He has been of bad health for a very long time. Issues with heart, kidneys and what not. I accepted the fact that his condition can get worse any moment long time ago, so this didn't strike me too hard as I was mentally prepared for it this whole time. So long as he is alive, even while in coma I'll try not to stress or worry about it. At least in this state he isn't in pain so I'll consider this as him taking a break from all the shit.

Anyway I traded for some games few days before my birthday because I planned on making the birthday thread, but after the incident with my father I wasn't in the mood for it. I'll make those gibs now, nothing special but they're all games with positive reviews. Choo-Choo

I'm glad you try to see it positively. That's the best way to tackle things like this in life. I hope he makes a recovery and that your future birthdays will be less stressful!

Sh!t man, it's hard to be like that, to feel like that, sorry to hear that with all the medical advances people still have to suffer, for the wrong things..
I'm not sure if we can still say happy belated birthday since if it'd been worse then you wouldn't really celebrate or even appreciate remembering your B-date, like ever again, so it's nice to see you take it positively, gives us courage and earn respect for those of us we have a dad (or mom or both!) with health issues..

I don't quite get the people who goes through something like this and still have the strength to come here and do giveaways, granted it may help distracting and words of love and encouragement from complete strangers here, so there's that.

Hope you keep this strong, this positive, I know I'd like to be like you if it comes to that. Thanks and hang in there!

I hope he gets a few more years on this earth in a condition to live well, things can just deteriorate quickly though, yeah.

Life kicking you while you are down is unfair. Hope your father pulls through, and you find a job. That's a lot for someone to deal with.

I'm very sorry to hear that. My mom recently had a stroke so I know how hard it must be on you. Im sure your dad is a strong man and he'll fight through it. I wish you and your dad better days.

Also I noticed you have Splatter- Blood Red edition on your wishlist. I think I have a key for that if you want it as a birthday present

This was my fathers third stroke. The first one didn't do any noticeable damage as far as I know, the second one made him have trouble speaking but he recovered after only 2-3 weeks and could speak almost normally again (he'd still missplace some words every now and then but rarely). And now this third one was really bad and set him into deep coma.

I hope your mom is alright. Make sure she takes very good care of herself to minimize the chance of another stroke.

It's a game I'm quite interested in since I LOVE top-down shooters. I wouldn't mind taking it from you if you have no interest in that game yourself, I'd probably download it right away or shortly after.

None of those are near me and since my family is poor and we barely make by I can't afford to travel every day without getting paid. So volunteer work is out of question for now, I need a proper job.

So sorry to hear about your dad. Hope he gets better very soon. Accomplishments are over-rated btw, and in the end don't mean as much as people expect them to. Better to live life as fully as you can.
