Do only fools spend several times a base game's cost on extra content?

View Results
[T1] Basic tinkering knowledge will suffice.
[BTA] Hoping to snipe a Razer-sharp price for my Republic Of Gamers membership.
[T3] I can't stop getting NZXTcited about that story DLC. Need this in my life.
[Have] I had to brush up on some theory to prepare for my latest build.
[Skip] I only do this in the real world. As if bus drivers would play a bus simulator! Outrageous!
[Priceplaint] I'd get the whole thing if it was half or a third of this T3 price.

So why not just add the soundtrack as well then? If they do all the other DLC.

If it makes it any better, some of the tracks are included in the Overclocked Edition Content DLC 😄

Not for a hoarder that wants everything complete. 😄

And normally i am not one to buy soundtracks seperately, not even on sale.

Good point, I remember that they usually gave some of the soundtrack of the featured games as a drm-free bonus, but now I guess they gave up on that

Would actually be nice if they made them themed. Easier to skip if a given month's theme is not one's cup of tea, more value and joy if it is.

Yeah, we are planning to call them "Bundle Simulators", they look like bundles, but in reality, they are not.

This is the Early Access idea, you can pay for it and take part in the community, we may take your opinion into account!

So this is basically the PC Building Simulator - Maxed Out Edition bundle available on Steam then? Eh, considering the historical low was $39, this is definitely a great deal if someone wants the base game plus those nine DLCs.

As for myself, I already have the base game (still haven't played because... well, backlog) and I'm not interested in getting any of the DLCs so it's an easy skip.

Once purchased, players can use this workshop in both Career and Free Build modes of the game and switch between available workshops whenever they feel like a change of scenery.
Features:
Brand new Republic of Gamers themed design and aesthetic
New workshop layout
Neon!

Yeah, this is purely cosmetic. 7 dlcs of changes in game environment for pc shop fanboys, which is in itself a foreign notion to me o.O
That leaves Overclocked edition - soundtrack + 4 skins (meh), and Esports Expansion, the only dlc that looks like it brings any extra substance to the game, with esports team dedicated storyline. Without any discount it costs ~$13/11 euro. If it was in the 1st tier, or 2nd one, maybe I'd take it, but if not, I'll just wait for a good discount before I buy it.

It's $1 for the base game. Seriously?

Probably someone who bulk-buys to go all in on trading/giveaways, their ‘value systems’ are based on different criteria than normal joes. Nothing really wrong with that, just something to keep in mind in spaces like this.

What Comiclove said, plus the matter of fact that I already own the base game on EGS. So the $1 for the base game is meaningless to me.

FWIW, even I'm balking a bit at this bundle because it seems like all the DLC here is cosmetic while conveniently leaving out the one DLC that actually expands on the game. I'd rather they just chuck the base game into some 'gamer's dream' bundle with games like Game Dev Studio, I think that'd have some broader appeal.

Edit: Silly me, the 'Esports expansion' is here. Wish it was T2 though...

Edit 2: Fanatical won this month for me somehow, that Indie Legends bundle had just PCBS AND the Esports expansion together. Good on me for waiting BundleFest out, haha

Moaning about $10 for a load of content seems very silly.

"Only" 7.
Overclocked edition has cosmetics plus soundtrack, and esports expansion has some actual content.

Nice. I guess I pick up the base game then. I do not really care for cosmetics in this case.

My monthly copy gave me a good couple of hours of fun, stopped playing mainly due to a horrible performance. It was sluggish on my old RX 480 and did not seem to get any better on my new RX 6800 so I kinda gave up on it. For 1 buck definitely worth a try if you like the idea of fiddling around with virtual hardware.

I already own base game from Jan 2021 HC, and I'm not going to pay $15 just for DLCs, so easy skip on my side.

Got this from Epic, but I might consider picking it up for the Steam copy for $1. None of those DLCs are worth it, though.

It's a good deal for just the base game, but to get all achievements you would need the DLC, so I'll pass and work on something else.
