How do you decide what games to play? I have an issue where I spend more time trying to decide than I do actually playing anything. Like I recently played through South Park then it's back to not being able to choose anything.

You still have 50 more achievements to get in Rise of the Tomb Raider. You could try a completionist path for a bit. :)

I have a list of games that I want to play. I take a look at it and pick the game that suits my mood. I understand that sometimes it's hard to pick a game and it's happening with me now so I just take a rest for a few days (sometimes weeks) without playing any game.

How do you even get a list tho? My backlog is stupid and is full of games I want to play across multiple platforms but I don't even know how to start sorting it to a list that easier to manage.

Join monthly themes like 'Play a game you won on Steamgifts' or Backlog Assassins themed monthly :P
I find I get more done this way. You can move onto your regular backlog that relates to the theme once you beat all the wins that relate!

Most of the time I let other people decide about what I play :D

Depressurizer, plus "what am I in the mood for". And a huge spreadsheet.

What, you do not have a huge spreadsheet?!? Hmpf. :D :D

There have been long periods of my life that I've spent more time on my games spreadsheet than on the games themselves! Of course, now that I've got the randomizer more or less working, I'm running out of new features to implement. Oh well, I'm sure I'll come up with something else to add to it sooner or later. XD

Every once in a while I will scroll through a few hundred games from the list of all the games I own and quickly look some of them up. I will pick out some that I am the most interested in playing and write them down in a text file called "games to play". Then when I want to play a new game, I can just look through the much shorter list of games and probably find something.

I will sometimes put the games to play into categories as well to fit my mood. Some of the categories I like are retro style metroidvania like a 2d sidescroller/ platformer, open world exploration, long story driven rpg, short indie games, point & click.

If you know what type of game you want to play, but have a massive list of games to search through, use https://www.lorenzostanco.com/lab/steam/ to sort through the games by tags or lots of other filters.

Well I let other people decide. I joined PoP and use the BLAEO challenge me and the monthly Play a game you won on steam gifts (PAGYWOSG) event. And from those games chosen I decide to play whatever I want.

If this is concerning only your Steam back log you could use https://www.lorenzostanco.com/lab/steam/ , load your library and use the pick a random game feature

I'm the next who would recommend https://www.lorenzostanco.com/lab/steam/.
Usually I do know what I want to play but if not this site helps filtering. Or picking some games by RNG.

I have had issues with that as well. So now when I couldn't decide I made a list of 6 games I'd like to play next and then asked people on BLAEO's discord to help me decide. I picked the game that had the most recommendations.

So I would say that making a list of up to 10 games you feel like you'd like to play next and then having people of some kind of gaming community vote for the one you should play isn't a bad idea.

If you're craving to play a certain type of game but have issues finding something in huge library of games I would recommend Lorenzo's library filters, a website that scans your library and then gives you a ton of filters to find the kind of game(s) you're interested in.
