Yeah, I know PC doesn't have a light gun, and playing with the mouse in those games makes things too easy at times, but the gameplay can still be fun.

I think light gun style means on rails. I dont think Xotic falls under this category.

Sega has some of the House of the Dead games on PC, but while I have the first game, it has compatibility issues with more recent operating systems, so I can't play that at all.

I wish there was a way to use Playstation move on Pc (there's one probably, but I'm sure I'm too stupid to do it).

Dead pixel.

Do you mean Dead Pixels? Because I wouldn't say that is anything like a light gun game.

MAME and an old House Of The Dead.

House of the Dead games got Windows ports, even if the original isn't compatible with my OS. No reason for emulators.

Then how about game number 4?

That was Overkill right? Own it on Wii.

There's a House of the Dead 4 (I don't really know if that's what he was referring to).

That is indeed what I am referring to. I didn't know about any Overkill for arcades.

House of the Dead 4 is available on Ps3 as well though, not sure about a Pc port.

PC port is practically non-existent for now. Since SEGA is the company that makes this series, it's pretty unlikely we will see a port soon.

Sorry about the late reply. The game I'm referring to is "House Of The Dead 4".

Didn't know there was an actual HotD4. If I ever get a PS3, I'll look it up.

There is. Did you think they would stop at 3 only?

I thought the next one after 3 was Overkill. I'm always hearing about those, but never seen people mention 4.

I never heard of Overkill until you mentioned it.
That just means it is just a money grab that isn't on the original platform HOTD is on, the arcade.
As for why you never seen people mention 4, it's probably because it's been arcade only until around 6 years after it has been on the arcade.

Overkill is pretty damn awesome in my opinion. One of my better Wii games, and great in co-op.

There are no light gun games made for non arcades anymore, because they require CRT screens, and everyone has been using LCD for years.
A modern version requiring special laser pointer type hardware may be around. Otherwise there is dolphin which has a similar effect in some games, you'll need a Wiimote and the light bar.

I'm aware of that, I said games in that style. Such titles I've played on PC (House of the Dead) used the mouse on PC.

To tell the truth, I quite like the colours on it. And it's 19", so it's not exacty small either. The only thing that sucks is that it's 4:3.

Pretty obvious. There's hardly any CRT that is 16:9.

I know, but the ones that are are pure amaze. Best of both worlds and such. If they weren't so pricey I'd snag a used one and cherish it till the end of days.

Uhm.. really ?
Then what about House of the Dead Overkill etc. ? Sure, those games now rely on external peripherals instead of CRT to track where you're shooting. Doesn't mean they can no longer be made.

re-notice the part mentioning Wii / special controllers not related to "light guns".

Light guns don't work on non-CRT stuff without special equipment.
Try your PS1 and a light gun on your LCD standalone. You will definitely be having problems.

"ref=zgbs402049011_1" part, is NOT a referral link. It is a part of the URL indicating what part of their website you were linked here from, such as their promotional emails or your shipped orders.
None of these give anyone any gains, other then showing other people sales/things off amazon.

I have a CRT sitting in my room...xD. But I know MAME supports light guns. Most of the require a sensor bar though, like a WiiMote. Ebay has em. They're usually USB or Wireless but most games have zero lightgun support, as fun as they are. You could always get Time Crisis for PS3 or something.
