Probably not a very original idea, but one that should be pleasant to discuss and share. So without further ado, here are a few things that put a smile on my face recently:

  • Spending a weekend in beautiful Nainital, India, in the middle of two weeks of work in less-charming Noida. It sure made me want to travel in India more.
  • Learning, when I came back home from this trip, that I didn't actually ruin my coffee roaster (tip: don't leave hot "automated" devices unattended right before you need to leave to the airport)
  • Getting back to home brewing after a relatively long hiatus, and being rewarded with a really good amber ale for a first batch.

What's yours?

Here's a little something for your trouble.

Earlier today, I started my free trial for Xbox Game Pass. Okay, sure, I don't own any Xboxes, but there were a couple "Xbox Play Anywhere" games on that list that I was interested in, games I can play on my computer.

Short story short: I've been enjoying Super Lucky's Tale recently.

I wasn't aware of Xbox Play Anywhere, but after checking the pricing of some of the titles that are available on both on Xbox Play Anywhere and Steam, the former seems more expensive. Obviously not an issue if you're just subscribed to trial.

Feeding stray cattos.
I like how they usually come when called once they recognise you.

Nice to see you back with a positive thread, Yirg! <3

Aww it's true they always remain wild but they like to be tamed just a little. Or maybe they tame you ;)
Had a few I was feeding when I lived in the mountains (especially in the winter when there was too much snow and they couldn't hunt much). Some of them even allowed themselves to be petted once in a while.
One I literally saw born right on my doorstep. Could never approach this one but he'd come inside and sit with us near the fire as long as we weren't standing up. If we did, he was gone in a blur of grey stripes and green eyes. I miss that sausage thief.

Thanks, good to be back! :-)

Some street cats can be tamed, especially if they are used to people feeding them. That's what happened with my last two cats.

I've started drawing more with the tablet I bought last year and I really enjoy it, sometimes I lose track of time drawing. I have been in a slump the past few years so I'm really happy I can find enjoyment in this hobby again.

I started a new novel after like 3 months of nothing (university-university-university) and I'm planning a road trip through Japan with my best friend :) We did Scotland two years ago and it was amazing.

You're going to love Japan. I did a road trip there in March (solo) and enjoyed every moment. I actually created a thread about it here on SG before going on the trip. I was a bit concerned about driving there (on the left side) and was looking for a simulator, but it turned out to be quite easy. I should probably create another thread with the story of the trip and post some pictures...

We'll travel by train, I think, I read that the public transport is amazing, and that the country is very safe for women travelling alone.
If you create such thread, I'd read it for sure! ;)

From my list - went on a week long hike so that I could watch stars on a big screen and swim in mountain lakes.

For coloured pencil? Not really, no. Some I've put on Facebook, different coloured pencil groups and on my personal feed, but I don't have a pepper online presence for my art. Maybe some day if I can come up with a name for my art page & have the time to post constantly. :D
I did do a Tumblr year previously, digital fan art (trying to get faster & learn portraits) and before that had a blog and before that, deviantArt. The usual.

I had an allergy attack recently so I was not sleeping well, I started watching Old Chinese Martial Arts movies on Youtube and it had been keeping me pretty entertained and brings a smile to my face when its a horrible plot. Also, sort of finished the backlog of watching Korean variety, Running Man to date.

Cheers and Hope you will enjoy another jovial day today! Cruse~

So there's a local indie cinema that's given me lots of great memories. They show everything: Ghibli movies, Oscar winners, cult classics, documentaries, magic shows. Something for everyone. If you wear a themed costume or cosplay to one of their shows, they'll give you a discount. For a couple of dollars, you get a "lifetime pass" that gives you free popcorn and drink refills forever. Overall just a really small, wholesome operation run by people who love what they do. It's been part of our city since the 1930's.

The cinema was in danger of shutting down after the land got sold out from under them. It's been a stress point for me for months. Then, yesterday, we finally got confirmation that it was gonna be okay. The entire city came together to raise 3 million dollars to save it, like something out of an 80's flick.

This is the theatre in question, for anyone curious: http://riotheatre.ca/

Sounds like a really cool cinema. I wish there was something similar where I live. Regular cinemas are not as appealing to me as they were in the past, and I mostly watch movies at home ever since I bought a projector a few years ago.

I saw something the other day that left me grinning like an idiot and now I can't remember what it was. Maybe it was a sketch on Famalam or The Daily Show. On the other hand, I derived some perverse enjoyment from exposing one of my friends to the bizarre film, "Forbidden Zone."

Also learning that my cat can jump up to open doors using the handle. Damn impressive highly evolved little feline, that one. Next she'll be driving me to work.

I had a fat black cat that could pen doors by jumping up and turning the door knob, she could only open a door that she could push open though, she never figured out how to turn the knob and pull a door open.

I had a cat who could do that, and I swear once it was hanging on a handle trying to peep through the key hole (or at least that's what it looked like when the cat was hanging on the handle for a second or two longer than normal).
