"True Lover's Knot" last week on sale before removing

I'm wondering if the remaining keys from Indiegala's Action and Romance Anime Bundle will still work after they remove the game from Steam O_o

we feel that it truly does hurt our portfolio by having it around
we do understand why the reviews were so negative.
we’ve decided to put a 66% discount on the game for this week

AKA

"Hey, this game is a piece of garbage that is so bad, we're ashamed to have anyone play it, much less associate it with us. We still want you to pay a full third of its price to get a hold of it, though."

While that makes sense from a simple business perspective- recouping what they can, while they can- I think that sort of impression hurts them as much as leaving the game around. It'd have been a lot more graceful simply to remove it, while simply openly offering free keys to anyone that wants them. With that approach, they also benefit from cards, and would probably recoup any difference in sales through them (if not actually make a larger profit). By utilizing a different package for such keys, they could add on a free copy of another game for existing owners, thus perhaps avoiding negative perspectives there.

'course, the devs could cement the current negative impression by still going ahead with free keys, after this sale... :P

Yeah, you would think at least 90% off, I mean if the devs even say it its a crappie game you know it's bad!

I remember of this game, such a bother to play it. I've played it for the useless purpose to have a 100% achievement completion ^_^

Wow, another game from my wishlist being removed :( It has been on my wishlist since 21 November 2015, the say after it was released.

An update for those who might be interested, I just stumbled upon this announcement.

TL;DR: after the overwhelming (?) support they got after announcing they'd pull it, they decided to step back (!) and keep the game on Steam.
They also started a raffle for their newest game (Fix Me Fix You) for owners of True Lover's Knot (a loyalty reward of sorts), and put it on sale again for the weeklong deals... except this time it's the Deluxe Edition - to the chagrin of those who hurriedly bought either the base game only, or the Deluxe Edition at full price, possibly to get a +1 in their removed games count.

Was this all a plot to artificially increase sales?
At this point, I'm sure that most of the buyers will have farmed the game for cards well beyond the refund window.
