Hi there fellow steamgifters.

It may be a somewhat stupid question but: I don't use Origin, and really never will, so I got a couple of Games from the Bundle wich I redeemed only the Steam Keys for.
Could I gift the double leftover Keys without a Problem for my Steam Games? What would happen if a person would redeem the Key for a Game that I already redeemed on Steam? I know normaly it should be seperate keys, but Origin is known for extra special :eyesroll:

Does anyone know more about the Double Keys handling, besides the Humble Bundle FAQ? Searched the problem in the webz, but didn't found a ready answer.
Thanks in advance

Some of the games require activation on both services if you are running them in Steam, keep the Origin keys.

I can confirm Burnout, as I got that before the bundle, and was given the Origin key by Steam. I should think that when giving you Origin keys in the bundle, they would match with the Steam keys.

I also believe Medal of Honor requires it, and possibly Crysis 2.

Dead Space doesn't, and I doubt Mirror's Edge does.

Can anyone confirm this as true for cysis 2?

looks like origin keys given by steam and those included in the bundle are different, so you have 2. not sure if you can give any away though, would like to know this myself too

The Steam and Origin codes count as two separate copies of the game. Nothing bad will happen at all. A friend of mine game me some of the Origin codes for the games he activated on Steam

You may get two copies, but one purchase of the bundle is meant for the game to be used by ONE individual through whichever service they choose. Two people using the one license is piracy.

And it makes you look cheap because the lowest amount you have to pay is $1.

When you have played the game (both single and multiplayer for MoH), you can yourself confirm if you need the Origin key. Just wait until then.

Also, activate Dead Space 3 anyway. That game is awesome.

Do a series run and finish the trilogy. I love it, and I'm happy I finally have my own copy of the third game. Already had the first two on 360, even have a plasma cutter that came in the CE for the second game.

that be annoying if you bought an EA game on steam and they wanted you to buy it again on origin. remember Sim City 2013?

When you buy it though Steam, they give you the key you need for Origin. Since EA gave the keys for this bundle, they should be the Origin keys that match to the Steam keys.

the serial number attached to the games in the bundle are going to be the same....

they look different on the humble bundle page, but thats because the 'game key' to activate it on steam is not the serial number...once you activate it in steam, its going to give you a serial number that will match what youre going to have on origin...

and if youre doing this to play multiplayer with your friend, it isnt going to work...only one of you will be able ot do so...

Just found out that both mirrors edge and dead space don't need origin, but can anyone tell me if crysis 2 is needed to be redeemed on both steam and origin?

I can confirm that steam versions give separate Origin keys. I activated Medal of Honor on steam and in my library clicked CD-Key. This gave an Origin key that I then redeemed on Origin and Medal of Honor showed up in my Origin games. I gave the Humble Bundle Origin key to a friend who also successfully activated the game in Origin. Each key on Humble Bundle is a single copy. So you have two separate copies of the same game.

So steam version doesn't need origin activation?

Like I said each key on Humble Bundle is a single copy of a game. You don't have to use the Origin keys from Humble Bundle to play the Steam versions even if you use the Steam version to play multiplayer. However if you want all games on steam and Origin some of the Steam versions do not come with a separate Origin key, only the multiplayer ones do. This is because to play multiplayer it must be activated on Origin. But steam gives you a new key for that, it is not the same one as on the Humble Bundle.

Yes, you can give the steam versions to a friend.

Well, while it's technically possible to do so it's against the rules.

"Please consider your bundle a "unit", and not to share copies of the games or Steam keys from it."
"Each purchase is intended for use by one individual."

It's technically not a rule, more a request/wish, as it's not part of any ToS that you agree too

It is in the ToS - >http://www.humblebundle.com/terms

(xiii) except as otherwise specifically set forth in a licensor’s end user license agreement, as otherwise agreed upon by a licensor in writing or as otherwise allowed under applicable law, distributing, transmitting, copying (other than re-installing software or files previously purchased by you through the Service on computers, mobile or tablet devices owned by your, or creating backup copies of such software or files for your own personal use) or otherwise exploiting the Products (defined below) in any manner other than for your own private, non-commercial, personal use
