So, I think for me it's better to either don't say anything and do the GA stuff, or just don't care about these numbers. And I'm so sure that I should choose the second option.
You know, I've always thought that numbers don't matter. In fact, the affect they cause is the importance. Number of years passed since your birthday? Number of people you know? Number of games you own on Steam? Or in this case, number of people who have BLed you? It doesn't matter!
If you have 8000 games on steam and you haven't played 90% of them, so what's the point? Just to increase a number that doest not have anything to do with how you live.

blacklist is a fantasy. there is almost no change of you wining the GA from that person that blacklisted you. if you let it get to you, is gonna become toxic, ppl blacklist for arbitrary reasons most of the time that really doesnt have anything to do with you. if you are not an asshole as a person just dont sweat it! Some time ago i started blacklist ex winners who in 2 months+ haven't played my game. When i came to steamgifts, i thought someone would be have happy to get free game to play, but i were hardly slapped by reality. People mostly do not even say thank you and just idle games to get 0,2€ for cards or collect games to get 5k license from which they played 2%. I were really disappointed cause i gave away games i know i wouldn't play... so i gave them away to let someone else do not play them.
But, on the other hand, i also whitelist my ex winners, who really played games won of me with a decent try... after 4 months on steamgifts i unfortunately whitelisted one person for that. But i still really appreciate it, i got raised salary during corona, so I am thinking about do some good game giveaway every month, but whitelist only to reward such people. Already started with Elex.

But there might be a reason for not playing the game. I love every single game i have one and I know I'm gonna play them. BUT I'm in middle of studying for a hard exam. I can not play them for now. Maybe, mayyyybe it could be the case for the them.

Yeah, anything can happen, i usually do not BL after month, but later. That I use for private group giveaways where is were always written i expect game play. After month i reminded to member he entered invite only link for 10 people to play it and he replied he thought he won't have to play it, after that he idled game for two hours to shut my mounth. I really hate people acting like they won cards.

I'm tootired to sort it.
I get blacklisted for what I say, and for LGBT thread. This years Pride Month discussion I made myself the first person to put a game on the table, me being the first person people saw contributing. I gained 20 BL throughout an entire week from when I made the GA to the next time I posted in a discussion.
EDIT: The post below me inspired me to look at my person lists and it seems I have 62 in my WL and 18 in my BL. I dont really feel the need for a WL but my BL is reserved for some pretty toxic people xD

right now I'm into 876 whitelists and 61 blacklists, which increased by 2 in the last days because I've been inactive for weeks so no one noticed anything from me =P well so the ratio should be 14:1 if I'm not wrong?
I've always been super weak in maths, like, at elementary school level.. =P
anyways I keep on going with my 0 - totally empty blacklist and a nice whitelist hoping to keep on making giveaways for both wl and non wl users =P it's always been my view on this great site, it should be lived in this way! gifting is awesome =)

I wouldn't worry about blacklists; they really don't impact anything and won't noticeably change your experience with SG. If you are at all active on the forums, you'll pick up at least a couple. The number one thing you can do to earn blacklists is give away games, lol. People get mad if they can't enter because their level is too low, they don't pass a SGtools check, they can't solve a puzzle your created, or they just didn't notice your post until after the giveaway ended.
Personally, I almost never use my blacklist. I only used it once on a particularly difficult winner who I didn't want to deal with again and once with a person who was spewing some very abusive and hateful language here on the forums. Otherwise, I want to keep my giveaways as open to the public as possible. Everyone has their own standards though.
Also, if you weren't already aware, when someone blacklists you they essentially place themselves on your blacklist. It won't show up under your profile, but they won't be able to see or enter your giveaways anymore. Blacklists are now automatically reciprocal =)

Huh, I actually hadn't heard that one. Weird. You'd think they'd just ignore the giveaways for games they didn't want. I've hidden loads of games because I am not interested in them, but I'd never bl the giveaway creator.
I got all but one of my blacklists from the opposite situation: people who wanted to enter this one giveaway I hosted but couldn't pass the SGtools check.

87 WLs and 60 BLs, quite a few of those (looks like 20) blacklists were from sharing a religious talk quite a while ago with a GA, haha.
I haven’t really been so active on forums or making giveaways for a while, though, so I wouldn’t be surprised if my WLs drop sometime, but lots of people might be like me, not really remembering why people are on there so just assuming there’s a reason and leaving them, haha.
And apparently I have 153 people on my WL and only 13 on my BL.

I was looking at "My Stats" section and I realized that a handful of people blacklisted me. And I wanted to know that is it just me or people get blacklisted often here?
My own ratio is exactly 1:1.
If you want, you can check the number of people listed you.
It's down there at the "Whitelists (x) and Blacklists (y)" section.
