Hello
So I have Borderlands 2 game ( main game without any DLCs)
What would happen if I buy Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition?
Can I activate it on Steam too? Would it replace the previously installed game?
Am I forced to buy DLCs separately now ?

I believe your Steam copy would automatically be upgraded to the GOTY Edition (all the relevant DLC unlocked). Don't quote me, but I'm very sure that's how it works.

I had Fallout: New Vegas and then I bought the GOTY version. It simply replaced the old version. Should be the same with Borderlands.

I had Batman Arkham City. Then I've got GOTY (at that point it was the only way to acquire Harley Queen's Revenge). Now I'm proud owner of TWO Batman Arkham Cities. Check my steam library if you don't take my word on that.

You can certainly activate it on Steam, it will probably just add DLCs to your existing game.

if you get GOTY, you simply get whatever it gives in addition, nothing replaces, nothing lost. (but you don't get extra giftable copies)
