Hey, so the Sale is about to end and I'm finally going to buy Civ 5, but I don't know if Brave New World is worth the 10 extra bucks or if I should just buy the Gold Edition and skip Brave New World?

Come on. Difference in price between clean CivV and CivV Gold Edition (which includes Gods and Kings and over 10 DLCs) is 2,5€ in my country, and I really enjoy Gods and Kings, spying is fun. And OP, buy BNW, I'd buy it but the price is still too high for me.

I just won the Gold upgrade recently, but this is interesting insight. Very helpful.

Just buy Gold Edition + BNW

Through Steam trade you can save a few bucks.

I'd say go for gold, more time to get used to the new stuff it adds then go for bnw.

He can get used to all the new stuff at the same time. Personally speaking as a huge Civilization fan, I didn't like 5 vanilla. I liked it better with Gods and Kings. And I really like it now with BNW. Just do it.

Buy it with both of them. BNW is totally worth it!

My install path was like this:
Free Civ V from GMG voting.
BNW for about 8 bucks from GMG sale
Gold upgrade from Steam for 5 dollars

After you have BNW, Gold just adds maps and civs.

BNW. You MUST get BNW. You can skip Gold, just get BNW.

When you have BNW, all Gold is giving is few civilizations and scenarios. All good stuff from Gold is already inside BNW.

If you are new to Civ then just start with vanilla civ and get familliar with the gameplay. You can still purchase G&K and BNW later, by the way both of them are great and add a lot to the gameplay.
