Trailer.

More info.

"Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles will include two versions of the game — the classic original (which includes the War of the Lions translation), and a fresh new version with full-blown voice acting, revamped interface, "extensive additions and adjustments to the story", and smoother visuals.

Today's trailer also revealed a release date for the game, which launches for PlayStation 4 and PS5 on September 30, 2025."

Just a voiced remaster, huh? Remake would have been better.

It doesn't need a remaster. Just take the PS1 version and clean up the translation.

Alternative: Make the translation worse, then hire professional voice actors to record it.

I wonder how big the share of Square's revenue was, coming from remakes and remasters in recent years.

I wonder when is the era of putting a paint job on 20+ year old games going to end. Sure, many games were fun and there's a lot of nostalgia helping them as well but I'd rather have effort spent on new titles and not on having consumers pay for old titles as if they were new. But I suppose it's also on players not to reward these practices and let publishers know that the price of a paint job should not the same as that of a new product, yet that won't happen.

YEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!
I've been waiting for this! I've been waiting for this release forever!
Honestly, there were times when I almost gave up hope… but deep down, I never stopped dreaming of the day I could play FFT on PC!
I've been a fan ever since I played it on the original PlayStation. Even after selling the PS1 itself, I still kept the game disc!
I also bought the PSP version when it was re-released, but the audio and video got out of sync during big summon spells, which really killed the mood for me.
This is amazing news! Just please — please — don't ruin it by adding some awful original system like they did with Tactics Ogre...
