So after about 8 months of use my Razer Onza developed a defect in the left joystick. After a short email exchange they quickly decided to replace the product. It's worth noting that I didn't have to fight with them over the issue; it was all handled very well.

Well, only 2 weeks later a package arrives at my door containing a Razer Onza Tournament Edition! So not only was the issue diagnosed and dealt with quickly but they upgraded me to a superior product as well!

Top form Razer, top form.

Just putting this out there in case anyone was curious about their warranty support and to share my good fortune. Anyone else want to share their warranty stories (good or bad)?

I need to dump Logitech and try them out. I am DONE with Logitech G series shit. I've wanted to try the Ouroboros, but for that price I want to know someone that has it and praises it like a religious fundamentalist.

Also, don't you just love when a company shows appreciation for a consumer? I've had similar results both with XFX and Antec. Both will have a lifelong customer due to their excellent service.

Hmm, I don't know much about the Ouroboros myself, but I do quite enjoy my Deathadder. And yeh, when a company goes out of it's way to make support/warranty painless and then actually goes above and beyond with the replacement it does a lot to garner good graces.

Asus lost me years ago. I love their networking gear, but I refuse to purchase anything from them until they start treating their customers fairly and stop blaming junk on "customer physical damage."

I buy TONS of products and services. It's mandatory I do so. Up until a year ago I had but 1 company on my blacklist and that was HP. After helping others with Asus complaints and watching them get completely screwed, I have placed them on the blacklist. It's a shame... But it's been quite better with MSI and Gigabyte as my main MoBO suppliers. ASRock has stepped up in recent years and are really going to be a huge contender if they continue doing what they are doing.

Samsung is another one that will find themselves left out of my purchase orders if they don't get their shit together soon.

Logitech were good with me in one respect (they always replace faulty items), but very bad in another. All 3 G400 mice they sent me had the SAME fault, and they then put the blame on me for having unrealistic expectations. I now don't buy Logitech.

Corsair, one the other hand, sent me a replacement PSU that was also faulty after my first one broke in 2 days, but then to make up for that they sorted out all the shipping costs for the second RMA (UK to Netherlands) and sent me vouchers too.

My g700 was shit too (twice), logitech really is shit nowadays. Where are the days of the great mx518 :p

Yeah the G400 was supposed to be a replacement for my long-serving MX518. What a fail :(

Razer...defect...those 2 keywords always being together when someone brings their products up is why I never consider buying them.

Well, I think people with broken products are more vocal. People generally don't head to forums to report that everything is fine :)

I worked for an ISP and you'd swear the modems we sent out must have been awful... until you realize that only people with broken ones call in. The other 99% of them are working fine!

This is the gospel. You can safely assume maybe 10-20 % of satisfied, happy customers leave feedback and 80-90 % unhappy customers leave feedback.

100% of the stupid people making purchases leave feedback. (usually negative) user error twits.

I mean I don't hear "my razer product is great!" at all. Even though you like them, their product still broke on you as opposed to "I've been using this razer product for over <#> years and it's great!" Those are what I can find people saying about every other product except steelseries which is in the same boat, the SS Branding Shall Carry Us!

That's my issue. I like "solid, durable, efficient" and other terms indicating that it will work for a long time and that I won't have to spend time and money (shipping, etc.) fixing it. :>

I like the Razer mice for their shape, but they just don't last...

This is very true. Most of people don't get this.
Still, big amounts of bad feedback is still a good measurement of the quality of a product.

Logitech also has great support. I once had them send me a free wireless receiver for a mouse that was A: No longer under warranty and B: No longer being made (and it wasn't the universal receiver either, this was the MX1100). The conversation went something like "I can send you this, it costs a dollar." "Oh, do you need a credit card number or something?" "No you misunderstand, you don't have to pay for it because it's only a dollar." Another time I called to ask if I could get a shift key because I had snapped mine off trying to clean it. They told me they couldn't send the individual key... so they would replace the product. They ended up replacing the WHOLE product, a $30 or so keyboard and mouse combo. No shipping costs, no nothing. Plus their support's always been polite with me. Even if I found another product I liked a little better, I'd still probably buy Logitech just because I know there won't be a problem if it stops working.

My only issue is they dropped the G11 for the G110 keyboards(basically same thing but cheaper)

Still will buy their products, once my MX518 mouse dies I will get the latest version(I believe atm its the G400), will have to do a little looking for a new keyboard, as I can't shell out what people are charging for a new G11 these days(last I checked they were selling @ $150 new, when I got mine originally it was $40)

haven't dealt with their support as I didn't give them time when my first keyboard started having keys not working, I just decided to get another(it was OOW so)

Interesting, my Onza has had some appearance defects due to the crappy way razer made it but, it always worked perfectly, which is why I never bothered contacting them.

With that being said I will ONLY buy Razer mice. I've tried every type of product they make and did not like them but their mice, top notch and I love them...maybe because I hate change when it comes to my keyboard/mice as it takes a while to get acquainted to them.

Razer is garbage. Bought a Razer Lycosa keyboard when it was on sale at best buy. The shift key likes to stick or just not register key presses and there is a short somewhere in the keyboard that when you play movies or music it will randomly start spamming stop/start over and over again until you unplug the keyboard and plug it back in. This is a well known and documented issue with the Lycosa.

What does Razer tell me? "Send it back to us and we will send you a replacement, it will take 4-6 weeks" I tell them I don't have money to buy another keyboard and I bought this one cause my last keyboard was dying out as well. Their solution "cut the cable on the keyboard and send us a picture showing the cut cable and the serial on the keyboard and we will send you a replacement, it will take 4 weeks"

I believe my last email to them was along the lines of "go fuck yourself"

I did the "cut cable" process and the package arrived on my doorstep in 2 weeks - across an international border. I would be very surprised if it took twice as long to get to you. Maybe they were saying "up to" 4 weeks? For me, they sent me shipping info the day after I sent the "cut cable" pictures to them.

Also, what exactly did you think they were going to do? They offered to fully replace the defective item, which is exactly what a warranty entails. I don't understand your complaint at all...

Bought razer lachesis many years ago, when it first came out. Had some sensor issues but i could handle it. Nevertheless, i sent it to warranty few days before it expired. Got a replacement which still had the same problem. The matt cover is already a bit scratched, but besides that, it works great.

Was that done on purpose? I mean did they reply along the lines of "hey, sorry for the problem, we've upgraded your model in the process, kudos"
Or was it more like, yeah we didn't have a replacement model on hand so we got you this.
PS: it is not a critique, but I wanted to know why would you need to buy the razer onza instead of the xbox 360.The 360 gamepad is really good, plus the few things it has doesn't justify the extra cost for me.

It might have been an error, they didn't say either way but I'm happy with the result :) I'm sure they still stock the original model however, it's still listed on their website last I saw.

As for "why": Memory Express had the Onza on sale for $35 which is much less than the $60-70 that Microsoft wants for their x360 Wireless Controller for PC (the one that comes with the wireless USB dongle). I know a Wired x360 Controller would work but I couldn't find one for sale anywhere cheaper than the Onza.

Too bad the design of their ?mice? does not fit my hand very well, got Razer mousepad for like 6 years (Razer Mantis Speed) and it is still great (and it is a fabric one!). Three times I went with mouse from logitech (G9, G9x and G500) and three times there was a same problem with the loose connection of the USB cable to the mouse. Dunno if it is only me (using it wrong?) but it is annoying and the RMA did not go well.
