So, a couple years ago, this guy gave his game away on Reddit.

Today he came back and thanked Reddit for making his indie career possible.

That's not the point of this story though.

I happened to make a tiny un-noticed comment about trying to find my old copy of his game. He sent me a fresh executable. Out of the blue. For my un-upvoted comment. Just in case I couldn't find my old one. That's the kind of guy he is.

Someone pointed out in the comments that Auralux is on Steam Greenlight. The creator has pretty much given up on having it greenlit though.

I don't necessary want the SG forum to turn into Greenlight spam, I just thought I would share my story.

Agreed! I like that new units come in on the beat. The whole game has a rhythm.

It is a rather fun game to play, I've had it for nearly a year now (not played it nearly as much as I should), but it is very, very fun.

Havent played it, but from the pics and descriptions, it sounds a lot like many other types of games, for example Eufloria.
Still, i wish him good luck.

I own this for PC, it's a good game but there hasn't been any changes or updates from the creator for ages and since there is no modding support, there are no user-created levels like there are for Eufloria. After finishing the initial levels in the game, it quickly gets boring. A random level generator would be nice at least.
