I just checked out a book from the library called "Rock n Roll Heaven" that's a compendium of famous singers who have died, a lot of them before their time due to substance abuse, suicides, murders, accidents, or just simply passing on. I'm going through the pages and kind of paying personal homages to them by listening to a few of each person's hits that they or their band were known for.
Right now is Gene Vincent's Be-Bop-A-Lula and yes he sounds very similar to Elvis in singing style because he was pitted as the answer to the latter. Friendly competition, from what I gathered.
