The problem is that "quality" mobile games are abysmal when compared to quality PC games.
(Although, admittedly, I know that only from PC ports, videos and others' opinions, because I don't care for smartphones or whatever it is that runs mobile games)

I have nothing against quality mobile games. But why making a console/PC style game, so that console and PC gamers would want it? Mobile games should be their own thing, look at 3DS games. Most of them are perfectly suited for 3DS. This is a Shooter, which is controlled the best with mouse/keyboard or dual ANALOG sticks. I said ANALOG. like in "real". Not that "swipe my ass off" crap. Games like this shouldn't be on mobile devices. That's not why we get them.

Most are not poop for a mobile game that you pick up and play for half an hour at a time on the bus / tube / lunch break. They're pretty shit for long term entertainment unlike a computer game.
I refuse to pay money for mobile games unless it is really good and even then, I pay the bare minimum (i.e. no purchasing things you can use up)

Yeah, they make a mobile game but that does not mean that the game sucks or that they hate you!
As a developer it is a smart decision, they reach a broader audience that way and might make more awesome pc games in the future.

Seriously thought, it was a bad move moving a pretty hardcore(by modern standards) game to a casual device like this. Most of the deus ex fans play on PC in my opinion and it is a huge slap on the face for them. Personally I dont care much, sooner or later they 'll come up with something for pc that's for sure

the only thing that's missing to make it more inappropriate for an iPad would be RTS elements in Deus ex.
It's a story driven RPG FPS. How on earth would somebody think that the iPad has the right demographics or is an appropriate device for such a game?
But okay, it's their decision and i hope it works out for them. I'm sure they'll release a PC sequel at some point.

It's not just the ipad, but the iphone too. Just imagine that hipster with his iphone playing deus ex on a stamp sized, smeared display on the ride to work, with the lights reflecting on the display as well and him getting bumped all the time while keeping one eye on the window to not miss his station. Isn't that a great way to experience a story driven stealth rpg first person action game?

yeah that's the point. Phones or Tablets aren't designed for such games and aren't designed for long intensive games (and aren't used for that imho). Games on these devices are short and easy consumable because their users don't sit in front of their phone/tablet and play an hour or even more, which is fine for me. I just don't see how a deus ex game could fit in there.
Also releasing it exclusively for iOS devices isn't helpful either but I guess it's too much effort to port it from Objective C to Java ME.
