Be careful though. If you are in the US, and the financial assistance you are getting is from the agency I am thinking, I have a couple siblings who get the same assistance. Note that if you are married, spousal income is included in the calculations for how much you can receive, so if you do tie the knot, make sure you factor that in.

The good news on that last point: any income that is included does not subtract from assistance with the agency dollar-for-dollar, as there is a percentage that you lose for every dollar you or your spouse earns. I don't remember the exact amount, but it works like $0.30 less assistance for each $1 of income (don't quote me on the amount as it's for illustrative purposes). They also don't count a certain amount of income, so there's that too.

Definitely don't use that as an excuse not to tie the knot though, as that will be an amazing day when you do. If you want to know specifics, feel free to let me know and I can look up and provide more details.
