Well, im not sure to be honest, i wont be playing at least for now. Still, maybe someday, and the price is very attractive for this type of game.

I enjoyed it. It's a RTWP small party fantasy adventure game. There's you and two companions, with a little bit of choice in the companions and ability to swap out. A bit of a story moves you along.
Pretty nice production quality, mostly standard quests and monsters, and some good environments. I'd recommend it if you like the genre and don't want to sink hours and hours into a more hardcore CRPG. Definitely worth it for a dollar!

I do love rpgs but i dont have much time to play them anymore as most of rpgs takes quite some time to be experienced. Thx for the feedback btw.

I'm exactly the same way. I can't finish an RPG with less than 50 hours, if not 100-plus for a decent "full-fledged" RPG. I bought this one as a way to introduce my kids to FRPGs in that it's pretty accessible.

I understand exactly what you're saying. I have 220 hours in The Witcher 3 and im just about to start Blood and Wine dlc, i always search every corner of the map and as i play only a couple of hours daily, i dont progress much in the game. It means that i probably waste more time in a single game than i should xd

My problem is that my opportunities for a chunk of gametime are few and far in between, so I forget what the heck I was doing, what my planned character progression was, where that NPC was, etc. All I want to do is pause time for a few weeks and play these games nonstop. ;)

well, in the country i live in, dolar is 5 times our coin nowadays, so i might wait the game get a little cheaper before buying divinity, it's definitely a title that i want to try but not for the current price.

FWIW, those are two very different games. D:OS2 is a bona fide full-fledged CRPG. Ember is a diversion...much more lightweight. They are not mutually exclusive, and the scratch a different itch.

Until the price of DOS 2 drops to 0,99€, there will be a decade to go! If this will happen ever!

I played on Easy, so I didn't have this issue. In a way it was too easy, but oh well. I don't need game-related rage in my life.

Played and 100%'d recently after buying it in a similar sale, it's pretty good for that price. There is no need to grind for exp or loot, you'll get enough exp and the best equipment with quests, chests and fights during the world's exploration. There is fast travel, 3 member party system composed by you (permanent) and 3 swappable companions. Real time with pause combat. Also, I found the lore books pretty funny. Some boss battles are in form of a puzzle or something, just bashing them doesn't always work.

The last one before getting to Radiant, right? Tough one indeed, on Hard difficulty it took a few tries. I got past it after buffing my party with food and keeping him in a stunlock and lowering its defense with the sunder skill.

Explore the forest and do all the quests, just avoid the really high leveled enemies (lv 6 was the highest). Btw, when distributing stat points, avoid vitality, it's useless (you just need between 5 and 8 base VIT for accessories tho'). Dump every point on a main stat depending on your characters class (STR for melee, DEX ranged and INT spellcaster). Buff each character with food for every stat before battle. Get a healing skill like greater heal from helmets (the seller near the barrows refreshes its stock if you buy some, try until you get what you need). Also, get a shield for melee fighters, by going 2handed you'll sink faster than the Titanic. Kill the orbs as soon as they spawn

It could have used a bit more depth. Abilities are tied to items, which gives a bit variety, but at the same time makes characters bland. As I played I felt that I've seen every single character and quest in other games, but not in a bad way.
It's the game equivalent of you want to rewatch a series in the evening to chill. Nothing outstandingly good, nothing outstandingly bad, it's like 3.5/5 in every field where 3 is average (and not bad, bad IGN!)
If you have nothing remarkable RPG to play, it's a no-brainer for 1€. Fuck, I would say it's a comfortingly okay game even at full price.

"Abilities are tied to items"
Thats something i truly hate, tried it in Path of Exile and didn`t like it* at all.

*not the game, just the skills system.

After a couple of hours I ended up in an impossible fight. I tried several times without results then I gave up. Game was somewhat nice but not worth investing hours in a single fight.

It has a pretty generic fantasy setting but pretty worth it if you like combat/exploration/puzzles. I wouldn't play it for the story or roleplaying.

It already was at 0,99€ earlier this year, I know because I bought it :)
Played it for a bit and the game itself seems good enough, though the combat isn't very well balanced imho. It's really brutal early on, almost every encounter has enemies that are stronger than your team.

So, grinding for xp earlier so i can advance to another map/region stronger is a possibility? Or monster adjust to your lvl?

Permalink

You know, I'm not sure :/ I don't even remember if the enemies respawn or not, but it might be possible to grind for XP on the random encounters.

I noticed it earlier in the list of deals and I was seriously considering it. When I'm not in the mood for something deep, I enjoy casual ARPGs where killing monsters almost mindlessly is the main focus (in contrast to story and/or character build-driven games) and there is a strong accent on loot. If this is the case, I guess I'll get it.

EDIT: Whelp, I just noticed this was not a generic thread, but someone asking for advice, sorry for not giving any.

No, it is a single player game. But you control 3 different characters and game saves to cloud. For 0,99€ your friends can buy it and play it.

well after spending more than 8h in the game in one day and on a potato laptop with intel hd 4400 i can definitely say this deal is a steal and the game runs very well on the very low-end systems imaginable :D
