STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic II got an update:

New Features:

  • Steam Workshop support! We've proudly teamed up with the Restored Content Mod team and TSLRCM will be available on day 1!
  • Achievements can now be earned through gameplay
  • Controller support
  • Native widescreen resolution support
  • Support for up to 5K monitors
  • Steam Cloud saves

I've been meaning to start it, since I've seen a lot of good comments about the game but never got around to it. Maybe now that it got an update I'll give it a try.

Don't have KOTOR II so no ga, sorry.

Ah, brings back nostalgic times. Gonna download this soon.

Used to save up bunch of money from my daily money from parents to buy video cards. At that time I think 5500 FX was good, and so I had to save up for it since my onboard graphic card couldn't play this title. LOL.

Edit: I put up a request for STC here http://steamcommunity.com/app/208580/discussions/0/541906989387833089/ if you agree please voice your wish.

That would be a nice cherry on top! Hope Disney do it, but I would be happier if they just do the same treatment to KOTOR1

This poost broke mmy brain a little biy. I guess I should have seen this coming from a Disney marketing standpoint as yeeiser stated, but still. Looks like I'm going to be playing this while waiting for the next Edge of Space update.

Hoe-lee-sheet!

Was about to say who cares when the games practically unfinished, has to be modded, but workshop support...WORKSHOP SUPPORT! Restored content mod as well! I remember reading about it not longer after I "finished" it. I long for HK50 factory, did they manage to add it?

Such a shame they made Obsidian rush it through the door for Christmas as I genuinely thought it was a massive improvement up until the non-ending. Even as a player of The Old Republic MMO, I'd love to see a Knights of the Old Republic 3. They would be pretty much printing money, especially with the upcoming surge in Star Wars popularity incoming with the new films.

TSL: RCM adds more than just HK50 factory. It's a whole new experience - lots of bugs fixed, tons of content making KOTOR II the game it was supposed to be originally.

Well, it adds that factory, an actual ending and not just Kreia talking Jedi to you about the future and the Force, a slew of new scenes and dialogs, and a whole freaking planet. That's right.

As for KOTOR 3, I highly doubt it'll happen, unless Disney decides that this tiny part of the expanded universe is canon again, which it's officially not as of now. I don't think it's impossible, but they might just see the potential behind these two games as movie or series adaptations (which would work, goddammit), and then make them canon out of the ordinary. Then, there definitely will be a KOTOR 3, either by Bioware or Obsidian. Bioware seems like the winner, since EA has them, and Disney made kind of a pact with them, so...

Alright enough daydreaming now.

Honestly, even with the Kreia dialogue non-ending, I still was a massive fan, even preferring it to KOTOR 1. I knew once all the content was restored the game would be a masterpiece. It's a shame it didn't come out during the digital revolution we have today, it would have come out as Early Access and the content would have been doled out eventually without any worries. Always surprised me they went for an MMO over a 3rd iteration.

However tongue in cheek it was said, I really think there is a chance we will see a KOTOR 3 stand alone game. Disney love money and they're not stupid when it comes to licencing and making games. Whilst they have stripped the fans of most the extended lore, that is surely only to make way for them to expand into it without creating massive discrepancies. They know a good thing when they see one, pushing out things like massive updates to KOTOR 2 surely is a tester to see the market for Star Wars games and extended lores(KOTOR probably the best extended lore of the universe). I wouldn't be surprised to see them put their juggernaut finances behind them and spew out either a new Star Wars RPG a la KOTOR set in the distant past or a Knights of the New Republic set in their new future that they are establishing now.

Any news of KOTOR1 getting the same treatment? I will most probably play this game in the following year, but it would be nice to play them chronologically... however KOTOR1 has no love yet so I might skip it altogether (but I've read it has the best characters)

Wow. Really. Wow. I never bothered to read about the update. Never thought that they put that much update other than Steam OS compatible.
