Historical low on Steam!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1693980/Dead_Space/

I am really tempted :D Played the original around 9 times already on different platforms.
The deal ends on June the 26th (the same day as the Summer Sale Opening).

Edit: same price during Summer Sale!

Still too expensive. I'll keep playing the original until at least 85%

Personally I'm not in a hurry to get it, played the original a few years ago and didn't feel like it needed a remake (altough i hear it's quite a good one).

If a game is that good (and I think DS1 is damn good), I wonder what a Remake should do to enhance the experience of the game.
Besides just better graphics, there should be more and new content, which I read and heard that there is but I dont think its that much.

Better graphics, Isaac talks, that's it, I would be mad if I didn't play it on gamepass.

I loved the remake. Beat the original one at least 3 times and there's a lot of fresh content in the remake. New areas and new encounters. Also, some encounters are random and add to the intensity because you never know where/when enemies attack if you have the whole game memorized.

I'll buy it if and when they fix the regional pricing. I'm not paying 21% more than the US.

Ouch... that is just bad.

over 25% here, screw that.

18% here.

It used to be more but the dollar's value being in heavy fluctuation has really messed with he regional pricing... sometimes in our favor.

Will wait for that sweet -90%. Maybe one more year.
My backlog is massive.

Comment has been collapsed.

That could actually be happening.
I also got a lot of games in my backlog that make buying a new game irrelevant.

Then again, I have a craving for Dead Space Remake and RE4 Remake sind both originals are one of my favourite games >.<

I'll wait a bit until the price drop or a deeper discount to 90-95%

They drop Denuvo, I'll consider it.

very few games that have Denuvo and it doesn't affect gameplay
sales always go up after games remove it
some it even makes the games unplayable

It was also ''free'' with Playstation Plus Essential so better check if you already have it before you buy.

You shoul definitely play them! 1 and 2 are awesome.
But you can skip 3, though, if you ask me.

Started the first, it's good, as far as I can tell. There's just a bit too much bone-chilling, visceral terror in me :D Eventually, hopefully I can make it work eventually, I'm just "too inside the game", as it happens with many horror, and a few other genres too.

i played the three of them last year, the one is the best by far, if you plan to play the sequels i recommend you lower your expectations, the second is missing a bit of the tension and horror elements of the 1st one but its still good IMO, and the third one.... well just skip it, the initial scene its kinda good because you play as someone else that's not isaac and the plot its entertaining , after that, it becomes an generic action 3rd person shooter

I know what to expect, I know way too much, I'm just often way too tense to deal with horror. But thank you very much for your time, I'm sure the descriptions will serve others well too :)

Yea, part 3 gets really good towards the end and the DLC makes up for that. But it was already too late. The damage had been done by EA who forced them to make a generic shooter.
If you can suffer past the main story. The DLC is well worth it

oh really? i remember reaching the city and looking for some dude or something and then all hell breaks loose and you have to make your way blasting all over the city and that's when i decided i was not going to play all of it hahah, is it the endgame + dlc really worth it?

A generic shooter with poor controls, intended for slower paced action.

I bought the Deluxe edition! The Deluxe upgrade is usually $10, but buying the Deluxe edition itself brings it down to a couple bucks. It's a lot of cosmetics. I'd say it's a great deal. I am loving this game. I never played the Dead Space games before, so this is a solid purchase from me. The graphics are top notch, playing feels fluid on keyboard and mouse. I bit scary...

Also, no EA launcher.

Regional pricing for this game is the only thing holding me back, even when it's on sale still too expensive, living in 3rd world country sucks but that doesn't mean you have to apply 1st world country's prices onto us.

well that's the thing with editors, since EA is in charge of selling the game, they would charge you whatever they want, usually is the same with titles as big as Dead Space, but the good thing is uncle steam offers discounts every which way all the year, and even sometimes surpasses the lowest recorded from earlier offers, so... unless its a new AAA game or a from software game, you can wait for it to be discounted =P

(honestly 80% off is a good offer to consider, i think its worth paying the price)

Having a lot of admiration for the original I treated myself to the Deluxe version. You'll need some serious hardware tor playing in high resolutions and high settings. I tried with a 3080 10 GB and it was a stuttery mess which I didn't experience on a 4090.

Yeah this is one game that I'd rather play on console since I don't have a super high end PC. I tried playing some of it on my Xbox and it ran fine. Although the console version isn't perfect either

High resolution to me means 1080p, since I grew up in the days of 600x400, so if you wanted more info on if he's playing in 4k, then probably best to mention a specific resolution at the beginning. Not trying to split hairs, just calling it as I see it.

It's a fantastic game, decent price, but after playing the originals, this feels like half of a game, that will probably never be completed. The 3rd one went in a totally different direction, won't be missed, but the 1st two only make sense together.

Could you elaborate on why it feels like "half of a game" to you?
I played through the first original DS about 9 times on three different platforms and the second DS about 3-4 times on two different platforms.

Never had the feeling that there is something missing after the first DS, while knowing about the second one.

The story built up to a rather disappointing and somewhat abrupt ending. After all the struggles, you managed to get some bits and pieces of what's going on there, then a worm-like monster pops up which you manage to kill in no time and your main character starts going insane. Don't get me wrong everything here is great and I don't want to trivialize it, but the story and characters didn't really have enough time to breathe in the allocated time. I always felt there should have been more, even before they announced the 2nd installment, which thankfully manages to tie everything up to a proper conclusion.

That's a very good approach for testing games, or if you know you likely won't return to a game later. Subscriptions can be good as an alternative for buying games at current price point :)

Testing? Nah it doesn't take a month to finish a SP. Personally I don't see an incentive to return to single player games even if they offer replayability elements... I have like, hundreds of pending ones, why rewatch the same story when I can experience a new one?
