2019 Steam awards FAQ lists trading cards

There were no cards in the summer sale for crafting badges or doing you discovery queue and Valve said there won't be any cards in this years sale. Now on the 2019 Steam awards page in the FAQ you can see:

What are all the ways I can get Steam Award Trading Cards?
You can get trading cards in a few ways:

  • As a reward for purchasing from the Steam Store
  • Crafting game badges
  • Voting in the Steam Awards
  • Browsing your Discovery Queue
  • Trading with friends
  • Purchasing them in the Community Market

Honestly wouldn't surprise me if someone at Valve just recycled the old content and didn't correct that.

Pessimist Me: I'm going to assume that's a copy-n-paste fail until someone actually gets a card for crafting a badge. Bah, humbug!

Optimist Me: I've been holding onto all my sets for almost a year now just in case this happened. Hooray!

Relatable... I still clench onto hope that event cards come back, I really don't feel like putting up almost 1k cards on the market.

If Valve didn't change the discovery queue ASF should work fine.

ASF bots still work on idling games - Just used it these past 2 days to farm & flip dozens of cards that let me buy a game on a daily deal!

FAIL (It says that it runs to 31 January rather than 31 December)

I agree with above users they probably just recycled content and didn't bother fixing/updating stuff.

Yeah, I saw that opening it in the client. But seems more proof this page is just a bit copy+pasted and unreliable at the moment.

Guess we'll see tomorrow. If the sale starts on the 19th, we should be able to get mystery cards in 22 hours or so (week before sale).

Time to craft all sets then, who knows if we'll ever can again.

Yes, they do. I crafted a badge as a test and got Mysterious - 7.

Yep. 160 badges crafted, 160 cards received. Got lucky with 4 foils, one of which I managed to sell for a silly-ish price before they started to level off. :P
