I have nearly finished sorting all my spare Steam keys, and I have 6000 keys to give away (I am guessing that 4000 should be in the giveaway list here). So, in preparation for doing the mother of all giveaway trains, I have set this train up (5 titles, multiple copies of each) as a little test. This is a genuine giveaway though, all prizes are valid :)

Starts here with Blacksea Odyssey:

Would love feedback on this. If I have done anything wrong, let me know. Anything that could be done better, let me know. Train built with joonatoona's SGChooChoo script.

Looking great! (Except for text formatting but I guess the script is to blame.) Thanks for all the giveaways and for the heads up at your upcoming train.

Hoping to find a work around for the formatting issue :)

Add a backslash in front of a special character to escape it

Thanks :) Do you know if there is a way to add a line break or new paragraph in the description using the SGChooChoo script in the description field at all?

Ah, I didn't realize you were talking about that, I've never used that script but adding \n at the beginning of every new line might work (if you want a new paragraph, \n\n)

add to the first (last) cart a bump to the thread ;) it's easier to raise awareness

Thanks :) So in the Blacksea Odyssey giveaway, put a link to this thread?

yeah, like the first comment in the thread did.
not "mandatory", but customary, so it's easier to bump :)

Nah, Blacksea was the first cart. It makes sense to put a link to your discussion in the last cart of the train (18 Wheels...), so that people who are done with riding your train have an easy way back to your topic to bump it accordingly.

Aye, just like Myrsan said, it's well done ^^ Except for the missing Link back to this thread, so people don't forget to bump :3 But luckily, there's always a kind soul to put the link in the comments :3

Looks good. A couple of points:

  1. Line breaks would help make the description easier to read, especially before each billeted point.
  2. If you check for rule breaking and request new winners, considering that it'll take a huge amount of effort if you create that many giveaways. The obvious way to avoid this is to use an SGTools gate in the beginning of the train.

Good luck!

Thanks - I'm looking into #1 - I had it formatted nicely but the script to build the train seemed to remove it. Will see if I can work around this.

For #2, I'm really sorry but I have no idea what you mean - I'm still quite a newbie here and only just figured out what a 'train' was! Would you mind explaining a little bit more for me so I can make sure the next (big) train is right? Thanks!

I'm occupied at the moment, so will only be able to reply later. In the meanwhile, I highly recommend that you read (at least) the opening posts of these threads:

me and yirg have a long and still standing friendly argument.

in short, i claim sgtools discrminate and does not follow the site rules.
yirg say the opposite, with the added bonus you don't have to check winners if they broke the site rules.
confused? sorry ;)

If SGTools discriminates, so do Levels (which you use). And it does follow site rules, as explained by no other than the site owner and admin cg.

i know what cg wrote.
and i may have miswrote. i don't mean sgtools breaks the site rules. it "expends" on them. i find that discriminating

Thank you for the ride Superquake! ^^

I have made XII SGTools trains to date that comprise over 2300 SGTools giveaways. SGTools is a gate like any other of the SG gates like CV level, WL and BL, group giveaways, private giveaways, puzzle giveaways, etc that gives you loads of functionality (for example no more winners with non-activated wins, no multiple wins, cheaters, scammers or very wonderful ratio's) that give you a a lot less hassle with re-rolls and avoids you very wonderful winners that are really out there.

Also if by any chance you have a dishonest SGTools winner with an invalid entry then SG support will re-roll your giveaway (I have had one such a winner/2300+ giveaways to date).

If you have any questions about SGTools you can always asked them to me or in the SGTools thread.

Also Cg; the admin of this site, "SteamGifts", says that there's nothing wrong with using SGTools for making giveaways on SG.
