Ah, then I have to correct me ^^. To be exact it is the Wolf RPG Editor and it was also used in the development of a number of other titles, including freeware horror game Mad Father. The fact that he the developer built it from the ground up stays true.

I actually bought this game last year sometime (I believe..) from the dev's page :) Its good fun, though I wish it'd get some more updates.. (It may have, for all I know, haven't checked in on it in a while..)

I might pick it up! It looked like a pretty interesting game when it first came out.

Already played for 100 hours, I really recommended to everyone that like roguelike or JRPG.

Now on to a real challenge.
Like Bad Rats, or Revelation 2012.
Or even higher...start a Bad Rats 2 3D edition Kickstarter.
I got One Way Heroics through an Indie Royale bundle (it was the reason I bought that one); and really liked the simple yet effective mechanics.

I sold a Team Green switch thingie on the market for like 23 bucks, used the last bit of that money on this suggestion. Still downloading so we'll see in the morning, but you got me.

Being that this game is a roguelike, how long does your average game last? It looks like a mildly indepth RPG, and those generally aren't short enough to not rage over a roguelike. If it's shorter than a half hour, or longer than 3-4, it's not very appealing to me.

I've meet plenty of people who have about 100+ hours of official gametime on it. They played in different places where this game was released. Seems like each person gets 40+ hours out of it at the very least. Which at .87 cents, you're not telling me that isn't worth your money.
An average life in the game, i'm not sure. Cause I know you have to die a lot to spend Hero points to make the next life easier and upgraded with skills so they can survive and do well/better.

It depends on how you do it. You can skip dungeons and rely on random drops that eventually get sold for strong equipment and beat the DL in two hours or marathon the absolute end of the world in 12, where the DL hits for twice your health if you are playing on Insane. A rather short or long game you replay with different classes. It is getting an expansion that is going to overhaul things and might give you a loyalty discount.

Thanks OP, I bought it. Hope its fun, otherwise you owe me 87 cents. Actually, make it 88 for the MB I had to give up for the time being.

When I first saw this game, I thought it was another RPG maker game, with the shitty battle system most RPGmaker games have (well, not shitty but I hate it). Then I saw a gameplay and it looks pretty cool, I might get it in the last day of sales (limited budget, just waiting for certain sales and I'm getting small cheap indie games with my last bucks in the last day). Thanks for the advice! \o/

Hey guys, I just thought I'd inform everyone that One Way Heroics is on sale for 87 cents. I think it's a rather rad game and that perhaps you guys would enjoy it, since it's one of those nice gems that are buried in tons of crap on steam. Also if you check this game out and you're turned off by stereotypical rpg-elements. It's cause this game is making fun of common videogame trophes in an ironic way. Also this game is rouge-like, so you go back to the beginning when you die. Have fun.
Edit: Also this game has a forced side-scrolling function. Similar to Faster Than Light in a way. A wave of darkness is coming from the left side of the screen and the game is always moving left. Meaning you're always on the move and attentive to your surroundings. Unlike FTL, if the darkness catches up to you, you instantly die. And go back to the beginning.
I also checked out the store page and found out this game has full gamepad support. Like. the effort that went into this game for 3.49, and is now .87 cents for this sale. Please, do yourself a favor and pick up this game. God knows you're going to buy tons of shitty games during this sale you're going to regret, some of which cost like $10 usd+, so at least do yourself a favor and grab a game you know you're not going to regret at an awesome price you're not going to regret. .87 usd guys, c'mon.
Edit 2: I saw this in the comments, so I figured i'd add it to give you even more incentive to buy this game that's PRACTICALLY FREE NOW - > "i think it should be mentioned this game has steam cards available for it too. looks like they are going for roughly 20 cents each. makes the deal even better."
