Am I the only one who doesn't care about contributor value and just gives away the bundles I buy just to be nice? I mean, that is the point of this website, right? Granted, the bundle is pretty cheap, but I've always assumed that there's probably one or two people who literally have no money at all who'll be glad I gave it away, but that could just be me. (edit) I ask because I see a lot of people complaining about the lowered contributor value.

I am just like you DaringRaven, But people still seem to moan and when people say what you just have, They normally get flamed with "If i am Giving away games i want cv and to be on the front page blah blah"

The site's name is steamGIFTS.
A lot of people tend to complain about bundle games getting spammed. What they fail to understand is the fact that not everyone gives stuff away for CV.
A lot of people here are actually poor who can only afford bundles and even then, they are so generous that from that tiny amount that they have, they still would like to share with those who want it.

I remember The Ship spam, but I gave away a complete pack regardless of it. Why? Because those who truly want this game, will be happy when they win.

There is no difference. A bundle game is still a game, and those who want these games are worth sacrificing Contribution Value on.

After all, the purpose of this whole site is to help each other out.

Your right, Mister!
Anyway, I think before you can enter at an giveaway you must have atleast created a giveaway yourself. As said before: the site is about helping each other out. It's a giving and taking, but most people sadly only take and never give anything back to the community :(

I for myself would say "Thank you" to all unknown contributors, who not make a thread that they gave away a few games.

I suppose I came across wrong. I was asking because everyone I've seen lately seems really greedy and I wanted to see who else wasn't greedy about it.

I'm a little bummed that my CV doesn't go up, but mostly it's like...I don't need this extra steam key, and someone on here will enjoy the game hopefully. Also I don't have a job currently, if I did I would probably give away higher CV games too :p

Also, I like that when I win a game from a bundle, I can then give away the copy I had in my bundle, because I won it from someone else's bundle....that's really silly of me but I like it heh

For those unaware of it... the fuzzy math behind the CV of bundle/exploited games can be annoying the first time. But after they become aware of it, they generally come to accept it.

The crazy good thing I guess that is coming out of it is that people are 'greedy' to be 'generous'. So, I guess that is sort of a good thing.

I +- recently saw a guy "discussing" that wanted to receive full CV for a bundle game... I made that point(in a more "aggressive" way :P )

Some people now only care about CV and enter to GA groups where you must always giveaway something...

Sooner or later cg will realize that the contributor giveaways are a damage for the site. He will remove it to come up with something different.

I generally try to give away games I would like to receive, hence why I avoid bundles. There are a few exceptions, however, where I have no interest in a particular game but other people want it, desperately. In such cases, I give that game away to make the group happy.

Can't say I care that much about CV, or which game was bundled or not.
I do try to give away those games that a) don't show up too often in GA's and b) I've played and enjoyed myself. Which rules out a number of games that get bundled repeatedly.

For the same reason, I don't buy bundles just to give them away. But I'll probably pass on left-over keys if and when I already have a game from a bundle I get (although I've more or less decided to save those up for special events, like DeltaBladeX's birthday).

I care about, although not sufficiently to complain.
Since Contributor Value is setup to give a better opportunity for those who gave more games, why not care about? I'm pretty sure if nobody gets CV, there will be a huge difference on contributions, and this help people who cannot buy so many games.

I don't know how it's being managed, but my last 4 bundled games i give away grants me no value, even the 20% mentioned. I don't reach the support, even to understand why, because i just give away the games from bundles that i already own, and some other games i bought specifically to give away, but it's quite bad to buy a gift already bundled and gets no CV for it, although it doesn't stop me for giving them away.

About Bundle values and why people doesn't bought them, i was one of them, since i had not an International Credit Card and all of these bundles are not from my country and have not my currency. So i won "a lot" of games here and on another giveaway website, before starting to make my own giveaways.

I think CV matters most for people like me, starting to giveaway, they can feel more willing to giveaway here instead of trying to trade them, if it will grants their participation on more giveaways.

To me, CV is not a strong reason to giveaway.
So, it's ok to me to receive 20% value or less, but since i'm not receiving any, i do care more about the health of the service itself.

I don't mind seeing the large quantities of bundle games on the front page, I usually buy the bundles anyways and getting rid of them is a synch away. I just don't get why people have to make a giveaway solely for the purpose of getting a few bucks towards their CV. Usually, you'll find my extra keys hiding about the forum. In all fairness though, I stopped caring about CV back when I had $150 worth of it. Looking back on it, I probably could have used the $1350 I've added since to pay some bills <.<
