if you craft early, you get cards early, and can sell them on the market before other people. raking in about 3 or 4 times the price per card.

by removing free card drops i stopped participating in the event cause there was no way i could make even a single badge without spending $ on it, so i stopped giving a fuck and sell all my cards now.
i havent put a single cent into steam since they cut windows 7 support. the only money i spend on steam comes from selling off all my cards

how to get banned from refunding in one quick simple step
last sale the cards were ~4-5x the price they usually were throughout the entire sale, the vast majority of the cards came in because of people crafting badges. nobody is farming refunds on 30 accounts to get some cards (I'm almost positive this wouldn't work anyway, you'd just get community banned/that payment method blocked)
the reason they were so cheap before is because of the farmers, with literally hundreds/thousands of accounts claiming from queue

you would think that... but i know of a person on 4chan who has used about 100$ on steam to play over 2500+ games and refund them all. the amount of play time on steam is meaningless as you can easily play steam games without adding time to it cause steam wont patch the problem ive reported. the two weeks is all you need.

If I understand the system correctly, it depends on the cards used for the crafting. If you had all the cards that are needed for a badge for longer than a week, you can sell the resulting items (emoticon, background, summer sale card) immediately. The week period applies only if one or more of the needed cards were just bought on the market.
