Does anyone know of any games on Steam that are like FFT?

I love that game to death and I'd like to play some games that are similar to it.

Thanks in advance.

I personally love the way FFT's grid system is set up.

IMO there aren't that many flaws with the game, it just did everything right for me, which is why I can still pick it up and play it just about any day of the week ever after 14 years of playing it.

Have you ever played the enhanced PSP port of the game? It adds new characters, battles and weapons/armor etc to the game.

There are also patches for both versions that add a lot to the game or make it incredible hard or change the game entirely with a new story line etc.

The fans of FFT have really gone above and beyond with some of the mods/patches they create for the game. Some of them are incredibly fun to play.

Dofus/Wakfu are similar but you control a much smaller party (usually just you) and it is setup as an MMO.

Surprised nobody's mentioned the new XCOM. Turn based, grid based, your soldiers gain levels based on experience, it has elevation mechanics, a lot of the strategy is in positioning (cover, rather than blocking direction, but still)

I hate to say it, but if you want tactics games, you're gonna want a PS2 or PS3. The Disgaea series is easily the definitive tactics game. You beat the main story in about 30 or 40 hours at level 80-ish, and the level cap is usually 9999 - with plenty of bonus content after the story so you don't get bored for those 10000 levels.

Disgaea is the definitive grinding game. Tactics doesn't have much to do with it.

You call it grinding, I call it playing the game. The only thing different in Disgaea between the grinding and non-grinding parts is the lack of a cutscene in between stages.

Shining Force 2 is your best bet for an SRPG... for tactical not so-RPG games you could try XCOM or the Age of Wonders series.

warlock: master of arcana was good. its alot like civy V but with fantasy characters, and its easier to take cities, also you don't go threw ages.
