If I had to take a guess, it's probably been removed to avoid a surge of fake giveaways with the trial keys owners can generate.

What do you mean? What kind of trial keys?

Your friends play for free
You can generate an unlimited number of free Steam keys to send to your friends so that they can play with you online, up to five games per day.

From the store page - 5 games per day technically means 5 keys per day, for what's basically a demo, but with card drops enabled, that can be upgraded to the full game.

Thank you for the explanation... so if i win this GA, and activate this trial key, does the game disappear after 1 day? I can be in rouble for that.. How can i recognize trial key?

The trial key won't disappear, it's basically the base game, and the paid version is an upgrade DLC.
You will recognize it by its displayed name after activation, "Tumblestone Trial" - appID 109111.
This is how the full game looks like: https://steamdb.info/sub/129429/apps/ (base game, multiplayer DLC, full game DLC).

This is a borderline case where winners wouldn't be shown as having a not activated win (thanks to the Steam API that doesn't report DLCs as owned), but it still would be a misleading giveaway, potentially giving fraudulent giveaway creators up to $350 free (unbundled) CV for no cost.

I can easily see why the staff decided to remove it, instead of having to deal with infinite tickets, and possibly having luckier giveaway creators enjoying their free CV thanks to unwary winners.

Great finding! Thank you so much for this explanation, you're very helpful!
So..i have opened few GA's with this game, and if i win a trial, i will notify the creator if it's wrong!

Wow. OK. Very Long post removed. Lets try point form.

Dev screwed up with how this has been handled. I don't have any issues with WHAT they have done. Only how it was handled, listed and how part if it is attached to another game from one bundle but not others causing other issues as well.

I see why Steamgifts removed it and I agree with the reason. But to leave the running GAs up is very unfair. All GAs should be removed and this should be counted as a free game retroactively to when it was first released. That sucks for everyone but its the only fair way to handle it.

  • Edit to this. Never noticed it came out in 2016. Why is it only being disabled now? Is the key generating thing new? If so then make it free retroactively to when that part came out.

Thanks Humble. You have two black marks for issues coming from this Dev. And as I now count this as a free game. Its worth nothing in the Apr monthly either so between this and "the witness" thing. This was not a great bundle. lol. At least I got $5 bucks back for that part.

So this game is considered as a free game on SG and we won't able to create a GA for this?
I am also trying to create one with the same issue and found out this thread.

It would be cool if SG could allow GAs created with HB gift links but not keys. I'm not interested in this game and I feel stuck with it :(

Basiccally, I don't think they would do that because it still could be a fake HB link or some used links. And those users who want to take advantage of the trial keys still have chances to give it to someone who didn't notice what they get.

Maybe it's a opportunity to show your generosity to your friends. :)

Ah, to bad that SG dont separate free trial version from paid version. Got my hands on the trial key couple of days ago and suspected it might be removed and guess I was right. Was going to giveaway my monthly copy and cant. Thats what I get for waiting :)
