That's a great sentiment and an impressive event you've spun together. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Veery nice thread!
And yeah... Never lose hope. It actually dies at the very end right?
Also, that's so bad that some people don't understand when we make mistakes...That's very sad.
Thanks a lot for all the giveaways!

Thanks! Considering the size of your massive train in March, the kind words coming from you are much appreciated!

Very nice theme. Thank you for investing so much effort into this!
One thing I don't quite understand - if people are required to fix their misdeeds first, what makes this a second-chance train? Like you I believe that people should fix their unactivated wins, as it's really straightforward to do (I have a somewhat different opinion about multiple wins, but this isn't my point here). Still, I've been criticized for this strictness in the past, with the claim that people deserve a second chance and requiring them to completely fix their rap sheet shuts out those who made one mistake and cleaned up their act since. It's a valid argument, but implementing it in practice is not easy, as it just moves the pain from the person who wants to enter the GA to the GA creator and Support.

Thanks very much for the kind words! To me, second chances don't entail instant reconciliation. A person still needs to prove that they've recognized their mistakes by doing what they can to make amends. In the context of SteamGifts, it's very possible and often not complicated for a person to right their wrongs with unactivated or multiple wins. But with things like VAC bans, there's no second chance, and while I'm not opposed to that history being visible, it's unfair to judge others on their past mistakes.
I think of a person shutting out a person due to a VAC ban metaphorically similar to real life scenario where a person who had their trust broken, and no matter how the person who may have violated that trust changes for the better, they may never receive a second chance from that begrudged person. The message that I'm trying to convey is for those who have done wrong to not harbour on their mistakes, and for those who have been wronged to keep an open heart. Doors may close, but there are always plenty of open ones and plenty of love in the world to be found.

I understand what you are saying and I agree with your sentiment. Unfortunately, Valve aren't making it easy for us with their new restrictions regarding the gifting of VAC enabled games. Because of this new rule, I saw no other option but to employ the VAC ban filter in my last train, because I was giving away VAC protected games (albeit inventory copies acquired before the new rule was implemented. Thought it was better to be on the safe side, though). Of course, this doesn't preclude the situation where the winner gets themselves VAC banned in the future. It's a bit of an awkward situation going forward, even if the sole inability to store VAC games to inventory to be gifted later translates to significantly less incentive to give those games away :/

Rules (SG Tools Protected)
About This Train
Greetings, and welcome to The Second Chance Train! The spirit of this giveaway is to serve as a reminder that no matter the mistakes that we make in life, there's always a means to reconcile. To capture this spirit, this train features a second chance to win every title, with copies available for
600650 unique games, making for a total of12001300 keys to be given away! For the sake of both those entering (since I doubt anyone cares to navigate
600650 cars at once), and for my own selfish reasons (so my wrist doesn't fall off trying to arrange this in one sitting), this train will be held in a set of1213 rounds with 50 GAs (100 keys) to be given away in each. Every round will last 48 hours, and the event will span close to an entire month! The entire train will be open to all levels. Why in heaven's name would I allow open entries to those who have not yet contributed to the community? I believe everyone needs a push in the right direction. Those who have given away plenty will likely continue to give away plenty. Many people simply need a catalyst to step out of their shell to do good, and hopefully encourage new winners to give back!
That's not to say those who have contributed to the community shouldn't be appreciated and have their generosity be rewarded! I simply would like to confront the stigma the those at Level 0 are leechers. I know people who have the biggest hearts, but have a very difficult time making ends meet and have neither the money to spare, nor the time and means to obtain promotional keys to give away.
However, the train is SG Tools Protected, as the rules state above. All winners will be checked, but even if you don't pass, this is your opportunity to clean things up. For inactivated games, either activate your provided key/copy it or support the devs by purchasing it. For multiple wins, contact the giveaway creator and provide him with a new key or gift of the game so your win can be rerolled/deleted.
And yes, all the keys and the arrangement of this event is my own work, and is solely on my own time and own dime. As such, expect every game in this train to have been previously bundled! Every title will have a price that will require at least 4 points to enter. You likely won't fine much if you're like me and rarely skip a decent bundle, but hopefully there'll be something among the
600650 titles! The order of the games is entirely random. While I have the keys ordered alphabetically in my spreadsheet, to make things more fun I'll be using RNG to determine the rounds and order the games appear in. I intend to be around at the end of each round to send the gifts, but please allow time for me to verify the winners. It's also appreciated if you can mark your gift as received as soon as possible!
Wish to thank me if you win? The best thing you can do to reciprocate is extend generous deed to anyone you know, or even someone you have not even met. I believe positivity trumps all, and while it may not solve all the world's problems, being a positive influence serves as a reminder what truly matters in this confusing and chaotic world we live in. To enjoy our lives, and most importantly, to love.
I believe in unconditional love and the ability to forgive others for their mistakes, as well as the need to forgive ourselves. We all make mistakes in life, but no matter what, there's always a second chance to reconcile and be happy. If you are struggling, never lose hope. There's a good person within us all, and no matter the mistakes we make, there's always a second chance to prove it. I believe in you.
Please Bump, and Enjoy!
