chances are the same he just gets more drops for making badges.

Also, crafting GAME badges vs craft SUMMER badge, what are the differences?

You also get a Summer Adventure Card (or 2 if your team wins) if you craft a normal badge.
I think even if you just craft any badge you will get a Summer Adventure Card from that.

But I do stand a chance to get this if I craft game badges, right? Well, Gabe seems to be sort of a lottery addict.

Well, paying around $3 to $4 for a summer set with no guarantee of a token isn't as appealing as spending just $1 or less for something else albeit no token.

No it isnt.
I crafted one summer badge when the sale first started and people were selling the cards dirt cheap before they put that commodity system thats in place now. Dont think I will bother with another. Its not worth 3-4 bucks as it is now.

I like the commodity system in the respect that Ive barely had ANY market or community issues since the first few hours of the start of the sale. The downside is the cards are just not dropping as precipitously as they would be otherwise. Heck, I finished my only summer set the first few hours of the sale for less than a buck.

It's usually Counter Strike: Global Offensive... In this case, it seems Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is cheaper.
[EDIT] I was wrong. Nevermind. :P

You know what you just did?
You just saved me money and a great deal of trouble. I hadn't realized there were 9 Chivalry cards, and was about to purchase the set. Thank you. :P

http://www.steamcardexchange.net/index.php?badgeprices-nbpriceasc that's why CS:GO cards went up in price, but you still get your money back because you get 1 summer card, and 2 more when your team wins.

I'm not a card expert, but if you really need to keep it as cheap as possible, wouldn't it be better to use games you have so you can play them to get half of the cards for free?
On a related side note, can you collect cards and make badges for games you don't own?

Many of my games require 10 to 15 cards that sort. And those that don't, I've farmed and sold some and left with really odd numbers like 1 - 3 left to farm.

Wow, there are 16 games with 15 cards. o_O
That's crazy...
I actually have one of the games too. lol
It's been a while since I got the cards for Organ Trail though. (Fun little game, especially if you played the original Oregon Trail back in the early 90's)

I got a booster pack which had only 2 different cards. (so a duplicate in it...now that sucks. lol)

There are definitely some. I have a few of them. Personally, I think that is rather high. I think 10 max would have been better, but what can you do? I think the least I've seen is 5, and I've got a number of them. That's why I was thinking play games you have and buy the half of the set you don't get. With 5 cards, 3 will drop, and you only have to buy 2, which keeps things pretty cheap.

It seems it would generally be cheaper to finish off cards for games you already own (not always though, unpopular games would have more expensive cards). But CS: GO is pretty cheap. maybe some of the other 5 or 6 card badges out there too if you want/need to buy a completely fresh set.
And yes, you can buy cards and then craft badges for games you don't own.

In case no one post it already All you need to know

In my case, it could be more cost effective to buy complete sets instead of completing my missing cards.

Get the enhanced steam add on, it gives average cost of completion for all your games along with the average worth of your drops. I find that very useful.

Any card experts here care to share the cheapest cards to craft badges? I need complete sets obviously. Just want to keep the costs as low as possible.
