all i can offer for 100$ is 750 or 260X, or 270x for 200$. There is nothing to choose from nvidia for 200$ unless it is 760 for 250$. What cpu do u have?

If there's a leap in quality from $200 to $250, then $250 is an OK price to choose from

I suppose that's a problem in that I don't know what these generally cost. I'd say I was expecting to spend about $200, though I'd love to spend less, spending more is not a huge issue - just not a lot more

You can get a AMD R9 280 for about $200 but that'll need a $30 Mail In Rebate which is a great price since they used to cost about $300
But if you really really want a Nvidia card go for a GTX 750ti, but the AMD cards like the R7 265 out perform it.

If the OP doesn't care about ultra-high graphics, then what he needs to know is what graphics card is required to maintain playable settings at halfway decent graphics. Budget is irrelevant to answering that question. Once that minimum is established, he can decide how much money he wants to spend on extra "prettiness."
@OP, I tried asking the same question and never got a decent answer.

Buy an AMD R7 265.Sapphire one has the best price/performance.
I don't like Nvidia since their drivers tend to fail.Especially Nvidia audio drivers will rape your FPS if you actually install them.I strongly recommend AMD over Nvidia.

"I don't like Nvidia since their drivers tend to fail."
Odd thats why I stopped using AMD....never had an issue with Nvidia.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well I never had an issue with AMD, but back in my Geforce 7k days almost 1 of every 3 drivers failed in one game or another. For the last 7 years I've been using AMD, never had a single problem with my 3 different GPU's.
BTW, check support forums.Nvidia seems to have a lot more discussion about drivers than AMD.I still hear some driver fails on Nvidia, last one was about Watch_Dogs.

Umm... You now that it were AMD cards that had problems with watch dogs? One GTX 770 got the same fps as 2x Radeon 290X?:D

That's an awesome website. And it even has a link to a store in Mexico with the price it says!

Pretty sure the GTX750ti would be the better buy now, its the same power wise but cheaper and newer(better support usually).
Both are good though.

r7 260 2 gb is really good and it's cheaper than 200$ i believe its around 100-140$ see it(http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Radeon+R7+260X&id=2701) and GTX 750 (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+GTX+750&id=2825)
and this might help you compare them (http://www.game-debate.com/gpu/index.php?gid=2075&gid2=1912&compare=geforce-gtx-750-ti-gainward-2gb-edition-vs-radeon-r7-260x-gigabyte-2gb-oc-rev-1-0-edition)

I run a Radeon HD 6670 I got for about $60. It does remarkably well, considering. I can run Watch Dogs with settings on high at decent framerates, for example. (At least until it inevitably crashes because they haven't patched the bugs out yet. ಠ_ಠ )
Also, here's a couple of links that might help you: link 1 link 2

Strange things happen around the world. I had Athlon X2 6000+ and GF 9600 GT 512 MB along with 2gb RAM and I could run games that I shouldnt be able to run comfortably like Battlefield Bad Company 2 on Full HD res with med details or first Borderlands on Full HD with med/high details
Now I have Phenom II X4 965 BE + Radeon hD 7750 1GB and I dont have any problems running any games. Tho I will upgrade my PC in few months, I'm waiting for R9 280X to drop to reasonable price in Poland (here its +/-1100 PLN which is +/- 365 USD...the problem is that 1100 is pretty much as much as my monthly salary)

True, i have a 9800GT and i run a lot of good recent games in mid or high settings (borderlands 2 in high with no problems) DayZ Standalone and mod in mid, and im sure that Arma 3 (next buy objective) will work the same or better because is more optimized that Arma 2.

I remember a few years ago my brother and I got a Nvidia GT 220 (or something like that) for around $60.
It still works just fine for anything I'm playing, though the processor is still kinda not great... When there's hundreds of objects or particles on screen at once the game tends to lag up a bit.
Just letting you know, the graphics card isn't everything.

Either R9 270 ($170+) or R9 280 ($230+). Nvidia cards in that price range are simply worse. Both the 270 and the 280 are good enough to run any modern game on decent settings with a good framerate. The 280 will last a bit longer as it's about 20% faster than the 270, it requires a better PSU though.
If you are not completely broke and if your PSU is good enough I'd pick the 280.

He has a 200 budget, he should at least get a 750ti or a 760 on sale somewhere, the 640 is really terrible nowadays.

If it still matter MSI GAMING N750 GeForce GTX 750 1GB 128-Bit. is $140 on Newegg and its pretty good card.

I know you said you prfer NVIDIA
but the XFX Radeon HD 7870 is a pretty solid cards, I can run pretty much any game on high/ultra with no problem(to note, I haven't played any of the big 2014 AAA titles.. they aren't really interesting me)
only thing is I had adjust the casing slightly of mine because the fans were hitting it(and remove the bar saying its the 7870), and that fixed my only issue with it(its probably a defect I could've RMA'd, but it was easy to fix at home)

Well I have an XFX HD7770 and it has run everygame i have thrown at it with no problems. You Can get it for something like £100 :)

Rather save that money for a GPU instead of giveaway xD
270/280x R9s are definitely nice GPUs. But, it really depends on which games you're gonna play, and on which resolution.
Also, please note, that, in case same shit repeats like with Watch Dogs, where Nvidia's Gameworks doesn't let AMD get proper drivers, I guess going with Nvidia is better.

I need to buy a new graphics cards and I do not want to spend a lot, nor do I have a lot to spend.
I want a card that will allow me to play all the games I own, but I do not need to play all my games with super-high graphics
I generally don't care about graphics. If I can get Xbox-360 quality graphics for my games, that will suit me just fine.
I do prefer Nvidia over AMD, only because I've never successfully been able to contact AMD support.
I don't know shit about graphics cards, sharder, the difference between DirectX versions, but I'd like one that supports the newer stuff, but it doesn't have to look perfect all the time. Does anything like that exist?
(There will be a GA for those that help me, maybe next week)
EDIT: I have chosen a price range of about $200 right out of my arse - I have no idea if that's enough
