Why is ecology education so important ? [School project, need opinions]

Hey guys. I'm sorry for no giveaway - I'm really broke right now, but I'll make as soon as possible to thank you all. :) I need your opinions on why ecology education is important and what can we do to save the environment and keep it clean. Thanks to everyone and every little opinion is help for me. :)

It's 2014, we recently went through events such as Fukushima and BP oil and we still need to ask ourselves why ecology education would be important. At least we still bother to find out I guess..

Fukushima wouldn't have been a issue if the engineers weren't dipshits and didn't put the backup generator in the basement. still the radiation from that "disaster" is less than what is released by the mining of coal (from released radon)

in truth its hardly a disaster, and the lesson to be learned from it is not that ecology education is important but that engineering and architectural design has to be improved.

The designers didn't exactly expect a wall of water being two feet too high to protect the plant. The lesson is that an area prone to such incidences should have built higher walls.

According to the Doom-Sayers: They said that if Kyoto failed to be accepted by all the rich nations a few years ago, the world will be doomed at that point. We have been past the point of no recovery for years. Nothing matters anymore, yet they still want more money.
