Fukushima wouldn't have been a issue if the engineers weren't dipshits and didn't put the backup generator in the basement. still the radiation from that "disaster" is less than what is released by the mining of coal (from released radon)
in truth its hardly a disaster, and the lesson to be learned from it is not that ecology education is important but that engineering and architectural design has to be improved.
